no. science is a process of observation and study. science isnt something that can be created. observation requires a cognative mind and curiosity.
the idea that god created it is laughably absurd! and just to test your faith? psh! please...im surprised you dont beleive the sun revolves around the earth.
science pretty much rules out any possibility of a god -depending on which academy of science youre looking at of course, but they all do generally rule out the possibility of a diety- so the idea that science bringing you (you specifically) closer to god is also laughable.
how old are you?

Science in and of itself is not necessarily a bad thing. It can however be misused.
Science by itself is a type of empiricism. Empiricism gains knowledge only through what we can observe through our senses so it is limited to the realm of the natural. Because of this it cannot prove nor disprove the anything about God because God is supernatural.
This doesn't mean that all scientists are strong empiricists. Strong empiricism says the only knowledge one can have is from nature, and they reject and type of knowledge that might be obtainable from outside nature. They are thus limited to science, and many will claim that God doesn't exist because the kind of evidence neccessary to prove God is unobtainable. Theists are left to work in the frame work of empiricism then, which is not a fair, because strong empiricism is front loaded with the notion one cannot prove or disprove anything that is supernatural. There are other realms of knowledge that rationalists would say exists that are not natural. Such things are transcendental knowledge, or things we know from intuition. Kant describes these things as the "Noumenon" which is transcendental and the "Phenomenon".which is natural.
When one uses scientific observation to bolster claims about or against God, it steps outside the realm of Phenomenon into Noumenon. People often call this science, but is really an ontological leap. Science doesn't delve in the Noumenon, but it can have implications in it.

The problem for me is the people that are wise in their own eyes...you know...the ones trying to replace God with science.
Science is their god. God is the source of all knowledge. There are many things that take you away from God, including science, if it is used for ungodly means. Science is helpful as long as we are able to put it into perspective of the place it has in society. It's when we venture off that path that it becomes problematic.
I would argue that there are an infinite number of ways to prove the existence of God. His work is all around us, in everything we see. Anyone that God has sent the Holy Spirit to has all the proof of His existence that they'll ever need. The thing is you have to have faith first.
I agree, it ultimately comes down to having 100% faith in God. He allows scientists to do some incredible things. I do think that fact is an incredible test of our faith.

Science is the methods to get knowledge about the created items of the Universe. Science informed that every thing starting from a single atom to the large Galaxies just have the same system. That should be one creator for every thing in the Universe.
Hundreds of Quran's verses asked people to study how things have been created and how they are being controlled in adequate discipline.
Some scientific facts that have been proofed in the last decades are consistent with those have been informed by Quran.

Yes, God made all the natural laws we follow. The first person to answer your question said that science leaves out the possibility for God, which is very untrue, telling me he knows nothing about science. You bring up an interesting point as well, as for the test you talk about. People have told me that since science cant "prove" there is a God, there must not be, but how can science prove something that is working above all the natural laws it follows? it cant.

The scientific method was developed out of a Christian metaphysics, specifically with Francis Bacon. Experimental science is predicated on a kind of philosophical realism that was specifically monothestic. This in part explains why broad scientific developments occured in the West or where Christianity was more prevalant than in the far east (e.g. Newtonian science, Periodic Table of Elements, etc). You are not far off in your answer. Look into the history of science if you are interested in these topics.

God did not exactly create science, but he gave us the intelligence to figure it out. Many scientists believe that science proves God, especially modern DNA studies. Actually , I believe they call it intelligent selection, meaning nothing so complex could have been an accident. Out of respect, you should really capitalize God.

i had downloaded something from limewire about science and god. it was a very interesting documentary. all of these scientists gathered together and talked about the existence of god. they were all pro-god.
it was very intersting the statements that they had to make from the scientific level. how there are parts of a cell in our body that act like machines.. each part of the machine serving a vital purpose. they definitely couldn't have evolved into the way they are today. they kind of equated it to, if you took all of the parts of a watch and threw it into a bag, no matter how many times you shake the bag, the parts are going to fall back into being a working watch again.
they very much proved the existence of god through their studies and work.
i am very much agnostic; show me some type of proof.. it did wonders on showing.
i think someday we will be able to find god through science and this seperation of the two will seem so trivial and stupid.

Science = Study of the natural world
God = supernatural
Science does not concern itself with the realm of the supernatural, thus has no comment on god. Consequently, science cannot be used to "prove" god one way or the other.
... That still leaves the fact that god is imaginary, however.
