There are many skydive schools around... check the yellow pages. Make sure THEY ARE ACCREDITED! Beyond that, go for it and have fun. Expect to pay $250-300 for a full course and a solo jump. Additional solo jumps for $50 or so. Tandem jump (where you jump strapped to the instructor) is about $150, and is only a 30 minute course.... but you leave without being able to jump alone, and if you want to do it again, you'll have to jump with an instructor again, and pay the $150 again.
So how is jumping?
1) When free-falling, it is fast, and wild... your body believes it is going to die, and release more adrenelin than you could EVER possibly get in any other situation. You feel amazing! (in fact the feeling of euphoria lasts for DAYS afterwards)
2) When you open your wing (chute), you are like a bird. Everything is quiet, and you can fly.... turn, flip, full control. Its an amazing feeling of control over the wind.
3) The landing is a rush, and is actually the most difficult part, but with the right training, its no problem anyway. Plus, most schools will actually put a radio attached to the suit near your ear when you jump, and the person on the ground will talk to you as you approach the ground to help you do things right and safely.
So, have fun! Go for it! I'm 26 and have done 2 jumps now. It is life changing! Go with your best friend, or significant other. The experience will bring you closer together.

Skydiving involves a lot of falling. Go up in an airplane and jump. Pretty cut and dried, huh?

its like training your head is full of it nothing to do but train go threw the procedures, but your not like floating that is the camera man filming at the same velocity. This after doing a few jumps every one gets out of jumping when one start to personaly consider the plane ride and jumping out of it it becomes a stupid idea to jump out of air worth air crafts also one is going straigh down no forward movement to any benefit.

My son said it is like jumping into a wall of air & then floating.
