I'm happy to be the first to offer advice you can actually use... :-)
I was diagnosed with FMS in 2004 after about three years of mostly useless doctors' visits. I've found the most relief actually from OTC meds and herbal remedies. Every night at bedtime, I take 800 mg. of Aleve and a 1000-mg. flaxseed oil capsule to be able to walk the next morning, and I take Arnica tablets (a homeopathic herb) as needed for flareups. Exercise is good, too--I walk about two miles a day.
The links below should help. Good luck finding relief!

You will want to remember that everyones advice is based on their own experience. Since everyone is different, no one "remedy" will help for all those who suffer from FMS. I have had it for 16 years and have tried many many things with no or little success. Some basic things I have learned are walk or swim (in warm water) as often as you can, drink at least 1 gallon of purified water daily, do not eat dairy products, wheat products, products with gluten, or products with sugar. Do eat fresh or steamed veggies and fruit (organic if possible). Eat meats sparingly and go for that which has omega-3's. Get good sleep. Sometimes I use Melatonin and I also must wear a CPaP for sleep apnea. Stretch daily. Yoga or Tai Chi or Chi Gong is good. When your body says "rest" then rest. Do not push beyond your limit. It will take some time to know where your limits are. Anti-depressants may be in order - I use Effexor XR. I have gotten some renewed energy from accupuncture but have to continue it for the benefit. Green food such as Perfect Food is also helpful. I have also been getting some help from NAET treatments. A positive, peaceful and comfortable atmosphere is crucial for me. If I do all these things, I can usually keep pain at a level where pain is tolerable and I can enjoy some routine at home albeit a limited one. That is a huge improvement over my past experiences.

I know of a great treatment my mom has cured her fibromyalgia with!
She is taking an all natural mineral supplement that is specially formulated to give your body what it needs to heal the problem.
The supplements are inexpensive, easy to take and have no negative side effects.
email me for more info, Id love to help!

I don't have fibro but do have neuropathy, another chronic pain condition - in addition to some of what the others have told you - music, my pain seems to get worse at night so i listen to music. the ear phones are tricky to find that don't hurt but I jsut found out that there is a pillow with a tiny speaker in it, you can plug your walkman into the pillow and then plant your ear over the speaker spot and that way your partner won't be disturbed

I have been wondering if there are home remedies also. I understand that some people are different with treatments. All say, exercise, but like me... I can not even do that. I can not walk. Maybe the only thing I can do, is exercise my arms. So if someone can tell me different ways to exercise, please do... My email is oklahoma_angel_1@yahoo.com............. Thank you, and Good luck to you... I hope you can find a way to relieve your pain.

no new treatments around the home, but getting a job and focusing on something other then your pains and problems is known to work wonders.
