:::update::::....so today was day 7 of my missed period. It has been a week since I was supposed to start. My best friend bought me a pregnancy test this morning, and I took it this afternoon. (the instructions that came with it stated that you could test anytime of day if it has been days after your missed period and if you haven't drank a large amout of fluids, which I hadn't) I used the "pee in cup" and then dip method(the insert said you could do that way, or the pee on strip way...i chose the cup).....waited two minutes...and the test was negative. i hope that there were no defects in the test and that i will now be relieved from the stress, and hopefully start. Do you guys think the tests are accurate? And when do you think I will get my period finally? How long should I wait before I test again if I dont get it soon?
(if you don't know my situation, search for my first question)

if i am pregnant, which the test told me i wasn't, i would be about 4 weeks now. wouldn't the test be able to pick that up, even without the first morning urine?

the hpt's will definitely give false negatives, not false positives... wait another couple of days and test in the morning... or do it tomorrow morning... sperm only live up to 7 days after being "transferred" if you had sex over a week before you were supposed to ovulate chances are very good that you are not... good luck with it...

I feel for you sweetie! I read your other questions and I know how this feels - it's EXTREMELY stressful. And when you stress about it, it can make you even more crazy and delay your period further.

Anyway, if you want a "sure" way to know if you are pregnant and get it resolved once and for all - go to a local clinic or your ob/gyn if you have one and get a blood test. The best time to test with a home test is in the morning. I know the tests say any time of day is fine, but your hormone levels are at their highest with the first urination of the morning. So try another home test first if you want, just take it first thing in the morning. Or, like I said, get a blood test.

Condoms are not 100% effective but my fiance are only using them right now. It makes me NUTS worrying about pregnancy (and I'm much older than you!) but worrying only makes things worse. Smart of you to be careful (even though 16 is a bit young, I think).. but I'm glad you are careful.

Well it sounds like you don't want to be pregnant, and yes stress from worrying can cause your period to be late.
I have had 4 kids and a pregnant with my 5 and I have always used the home pregnancy test, once I even used the cup method. They have always been accurate but I always do two just to make sure. If your 7 days late already it should be a good reading.

Many things could cause a missed period other than pregnancy. Stress, meds, and even activity level.

If you don't have a period next month be sure to see a doctor. If any other symptoms arise between now and then see a doctor sooner ie. serious cramping.

If your not wanting to get pregnant please get on birth control, because the more you risk it the more apt you are to get pregnant.

I think that since you are young you might need to relax a little. Probably all the worrying has put a stop to your period or you miss calculated or amybe your hormones are changing since you are still young. I know that i was a late bloomer and didnt get my perioud till I was 18. Your body is going to change and so might your period. Relax if you are then you are and you can always give that baby up for adoption so people who cant have babies can have a baby so they dont go stealing other peoples by knife point. Just to warn you though. I was pregnant but the test didnt say positive till i was 2 months pregnant. if you have a hormone disease liek thyroid you might not be able to get a positive till you are definatly pregnant. i would go to planned parenthood or a walk in clinick or a walk in lab even and ask for a blood test to see if you are pregnant.

I read your first question.....You should go to the clinic and get a more accurate test because the home tests are not 100 percent. Good Luck!! But stress can also delay your period...

Pregnancy tests are not always accurate. There are many variables. Can you go to a Doctor, Planned Parenthood or Clinic in your area? They can administer a more reliable test and then also counsel you with options.

Relax… test again - first thing in the morning... relax, most women and not perfectly regular… yes, stress can make things irregular... relax!

If you are really concerned and cant afford a doctor, or don’t want parents to know??? check out planned parenthood in you area.
