Meh? Flip a coin. I wouldn't actually be converting to either, just going through the motions to avoid being shot in the head.
Actually probably christianity. I know more about it, so it would probably be easier to fake. Less praying, too.

"and threatened me" .. doesn't sound like a very peaceful religion to me, but then evil can be found in both islam and christianity - in fact religion is evil.

I could persuade any jacass with a gun I was a Christian so lying through my teeth to save my skin is the obvious option. They aren't going to hold a gun to my head forever. I probably know more about their feeble faith than they do. I'd still be the same cynical atheist on the inside and they'd be too stupid ever to see.

I'd choose Christianity, simply because I'm in the USA and it'd be easier to report the person to the police or to fellow church members to get free.
Once the gunman was in prison, I'd send him daily letters extoling the intelligence of atheism and laughing at him for being a theist.

I'm not an atheist, but I feel this question could still apply to me, with my religious background and all. ;p
I would convert to Islam. It makes a lot more sense then Christianity does, with its lack of doom-and-gloom messaging (particularly, Hell is not eternal, but a place of reconditioning until entry to Heaven). Islam also rejects blind faith, which Christianity demands.

I'd try islam. I've done the christian thing. Granted I'd be simply learning about islam and not a true convert, but who can see into my heart....

its funny how some atheists say christians Would Not take a bullet b4 they would convert to islam, and we say we would. but they would take a bullet when they believe in Nothing after death? real smart. i don't think these atheists would just take the bullet i'm sorry

Christianity, simply because that's the culture where I live. I know about Christian holidays; Islamic holidays are exotic to me. But it would be lip service, nothing else.

That's the problem with you godbots. You think violence accomplishes something or "proves" your religion is right.
All the tolerant and educated societies in human history are the ones where nobody gave a rat's rectum about other people's beliefs. Such societies wouldn't resort to violence.
