At one they are just starting to walk and need shoes that are fitted to their feet so you would really have to have them with you to buy them shoes.
Otherwise, I loved the footies with the plastic strip bottoms! They get good tread and will help them grip the floor as they test out their walking abilities! :-)

I only haave one so far but my son was wearing size 5 by 1 year. a friend has 6 month old twin boys, 1 is wearing size 2 and the other is in size 3. You should ask your friend since all kids are different. Even different shoes fit a little differently.

Our daughter was wearing size 5 at 1 year, but my nephew who is 3 weeks younger, was only a size 4 ,but needed like a 6 because his feet were wider. So the best shot would be to get a gift certificate, from your favorite shoe store, and let the mom take her boys there for a fitting. Good Luck!

If you live close enough take your friend out to town and surprise her by telling her you would love to buy some shoes for the twins. That you would enjoy it.

Why don't you ask the mother? All 1-yr olds aren't the same size.

You have to ask her. They may not wear the same size. Babies feet grow at different rates.
