Satan is the one who likes to divide and conquer

Actually it's both because you have to look at it from both perspectives. From the religious perspective it unites and brings together people in a common interest. For the non-religious it divides because they see things done in the name of a deity they either don't believe in or think exists at all.

Impure religion divides all;
But "pure religion" unites all.

Jesus: division & not peace: Mt 10:34; Lk 12:51; Jn 7;9;10
Christ: peace & not divided: Jn 14:27; Eph 2:14; 2Cor 5:19

Peace, with God, is notably "through Jesus->Christ".
Thru J->C end focuses on Christ: the end of the law.
To wit: that God was in "Christ" reconciling the world.
Perhaps a Ghostly God in Jesus, divided up the world.
(Eg: in Mt 25 Son of man divides all, either left or right)

Pst - left & right of God on "high" is a "fall" and "fearful".
It's a fearful thing to fall into the hands of law law God.
Whether left or right, it's "law worketh wrath" to come.
Destruction comes upon "them all", of them vs them.
Higher God hath NOT appt'd us unto wrath: 1Thes 5:9.
A pretty good reason to "come out from among them".

The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

It unites the ones that agree and divides the ones that don't.

well small groups of people with like minded ideas are united by common beliefs. then they get into bigger groups divided from other groups and kill each other.

in fact i think one of the reasons why those ancient folks came up with these religions and stuff was to unite people in war against other people.

people believe in this stuff now because they were taught to since they were little kids and we as humans crave believing in something, even if it doesnt make any sense.

Both. It unites individual people and then divides them into groups that are invariably against each other. It unites all people under the cause of being against other people.

Divide. One need not go to the middle east. Christian fundamentalism has divided the US. That's what the politicians and religious leaders wanted.

Both. Unites those who think they are right, and divides them against the others that think they are more right than the last...

Matthew 10:34-37 Do not think I came to put peace upon the earth; I came to put, not peace, but a sword. For I came to cause division, with a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a young wife against her mother-in-law. Indeed, a man's enemies will be persons of his own household. He that has greater affection for father or mother than for me is not worthy of me; and he that has greater affection for son or daughter than for me is not worthy of me. But those that are true disciples of Jesus Christ are united in love and in union with the Father and his son, Jesus Christ.
