Tell me how are YOU showing respect to God, when you will not even admit that Mr smith was wrong

"God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens!!! . . . We have imagined that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea and take away the veil, so that you may see" (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 345

"The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man's" (Doctrine and Covenants 130:22. Compare with Alma 18:26-27; 22:9-10)

God has always been God (Psalm 90:2; Isaiah 57:15)
God is a spirit without flesh and bones (John 4:24; Luke 24:39)

Tell me how are YOU honoring GOD by following a false prophet. and preaching LIES.

Tell me How are YOU honoring Jesus by this

Mormon
Jesus is the literal spirit-brother of Lucifer, a creation. (Gospel Through the Ages, p. 15)

Even if you do not teaching these it would seem that you have false prophets among you

I have not ment to offend anyone. But Please tell me. Jn 4:24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” does it not say ""in spirit and in ""truth"" How is worshipping God in truth when a lie is being taught when the LDS church is built on lies. Mormons are very nice people BUT even nice people can be wrong

Yea, there is a whole lot of contradictions and blasphemies in the book of mormon. First off, joseph smith was not a prophet of any sort, he claims that the angel "mormon" appeared to him, told him where to find 3 gold plates and a pair of "magic" glasses with which to decipher these plates, the plates were written in "refined egyptian hyroglyphics" which is not a language, it is a made up term, a spin off of normal egyption hyroglyphics. When smith put these reading glasses on he could read these plates in normal english, then "mormon" took the plates and glasses back. Why would this angel give him writings in a made up language? why cant mormons drink anything with caggeine? why cant they smoke or drink? these things are not prohibited in the holy bible.

First of all, what proof do you offer that these teachings are lies? Are you even aware that the earliest church fathers believied many of the same things? Do the names Origen and Tertullian mean anything to you? How is man created in God's image if God doesn't look like us? Spirit has no image after all. I'm gonna make a small guess here that you know nothing about your own religion let alone the LDS except what you're reading from a pamphlet or apologetics book. You even know any Mormons? Most Protestants and Catholics would be shamed by a comparison of how they walk their faith versus how the typical Mormon walks theirs.

Why is it SO hard to accept the God was once a man like you? He created us in HIS image...in HIS likeness...
THis part: We have imagined that God was God from all eternity
clearly means many people believe God just exisits, came from no where, he is just there. We believe He is our loving Heavenly Father and has a plan for each one of us.
"The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man's"
going along with the belief he was once a man...

I am honoring GOD by trying to live HIS commandments, living by the teachings in the Book of Mormon and Bible, enduring to the end...
What are YOU doing besides accusing people of fasle doctrine? Just because you don't believe in it doesn't mean it's wrong...and just because I believe it doesn't mean it's right,
To me, it is the most perfect and loving gospel the Lord could ever give us.

Joseph Smith was not wrong.

If you believe that Joseph Smith was telling the truth, which I do, then I don't believe that this is dishonoring God. You dishonor God by not keeping his commandments, and you honor Him by believing in His prophet.

First you need to realize that as Mormons we believe that Joseph Smith saw God in the flesh, along with his son Jesus Christ. This is how we know that God has a body. We have faith that Joseph Smith was telling the truth and that he was directed by God to establish, and restore His Church in the Latter-days. Because we believe Joseph Smith was a prophet, we believe that he had the power to recieve the revalaions contained in the Doctrine & Covenants. Because we believe God uses prophets to preach His word, we believe that the prophets spoken of and written about in the Book of Mormon are true and the things they taught are true. We have a record of Christ's visit to the Americas in The Book of Mormon. If we are created in the image of God, wouldn't in make sense that he also had a body?

Of course all to believe all of this requires faith, and you have to excercise it to know that this is true. There are alot of things that the Mormons believe that do not match up with the traditions of men, which are taught as truth. And unless you are willing to soften your heart and excerecise faith you will never know that Joseph Smith was a true propeht of the Lord, and that the things Joseph Smith taught are true.

And I honor God, by keeping his commandments, going to Church on Sunday, keeping the Sabbath day Holy, reading the Bible and the Book of Mormon, helping people around me, setting an example and trying to live like Chirst did.

Ok, so let me try to answer your question. I believe I am showing respect to God and trying to honor Him by what I do, and how I strive to live my life. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don't, but I keep trying and repenting. Does this include believing Joseph Smith did what he said he did? Yes. Does this mean believing that God was once as we are now, and that we have the opportunity to become like Him if we follow His teachings? Yes. Will everyone succeed in this effort to become like our Heavenly Father? No. By not succeeding, does that mean everyone else is "going to hell"? No. Those (possibly even me) who do not succeed in the effort to become like Him, will inherit a lesser place in His kingdom, but will still be in Heaven, unless their true self is that of a Son of Perdition, of which there will be very few. Given this, do I believe that God, our Heavenly Father has a body of flesh and bones? Absolutely. Let's just assume for a minute that God does NOT have a body of flesh and bones. How can we, as people on earth have something that God does not have, and still believe that He knows all, can do all, and that nothing was, is or can be without His power?
Now to address your referencing Bible passages in an effort to dispute what you quoted above.
Your reference of Luke 24:39 is where the ressurected Jesus appears to His disciples and some think He is a spirit, and He says, "handle me, and see; for a spirit is not flesh and bones, as ye see me have." Meaning, A spirit does not have flesh and bones, which, if you feel (handle) me you will see that I have flesh and bones.
As to your reference of John 4:24 realize that over the years between the time Jesus said it and it was written, then translated over and over again before it reached the English language, certain truths have been left out or mistranslated. Such is the case here. The verse should read, "For unto such hath God promised His spirit. And they who worship him, must worship in spirit and in truth."
Now on to your God has always been God reference. God is, has and will always be God. No arguement here. The God referred to in Isaiah is God the Father, our Heavenly Father, the Eternal Father. He does inhabit eternity. No question. And He did exist prior to the mountains of this earth existed, (your Psalms reference) and He existed with a body of flesh and bone.

All things existed spiritually (meaning without a physical form) before they existed physically (meaning with a physical form). God, our Heavenly Father created everything spiritually before Lucifer got kicked out of Heaven. So think about it, if Lucifer got kicked OUT of Heaven, that means that he must have been IN Heaven. If he was IN Heaven, then Heavenly Father must have created him. And through his own free will, Lucifer made choices which resulted in him leaving the presence of the Father. But he was nonetheless a creation of Heavenly Father, just as we all are, including Jesus Christ. In your own family, do you not have people who have done some thing that seperates them from their family? Perhaps, if you're a staunch Catholic and someone in your family gets a divorce, and even if that person is now not seen as part of the family anymore, they still have genetic family ties to the family, right? So what's the difference? Satan just made a choice that seperated him from his Heavenly Father. Now that seperation will never be mended, unlike the possibility of a family reunion in the case of a family seperated by divorce.

Since I believe that God called Joseph Smith to be a prophet, I feel that honoring Joseph Smith as a prophet is showing just as much honor to God as if is to honor Abraham, Isaac, or Joseph of Egypt as the prophets they are.

I honor God by reading the Bible and following his commandments. I celebrate Christmas and Easter for what they really are about, the birth of our savior and the resurrection. I pray every night and thank him for all the blessings in my life that he has given me. I try to be kind to others and not judgemental.

How are you honoring our Lord when you post this kind of questions which is nothing but a bunch of judgements about people you don't know. Matthew 7:1 is something you should read. You should focus on your own life and bettering yourself instead of attacking others.

What is sad is that some are predicting a Mormon will be the Republican candidate for President.... Mitt Romney. I pray we do not let this happen, but I do not believe that Spirit-filled believers are a anywhere near a majority even in the Republican Party. I am an Independant, by the way, as far a political labels are concerned.

My religion is not false or lies...I believe what I believe and you can believe what you believe, but you shouldn't bash people just because they believe differently than you. People have the right to freedom of religion and you are just gonna have to deal with that, because 86% of people believe in God, so the other 14%, which is you and some other's can just SHUT UP!
