I had a Chest Xray and am showing some tar spots due to smoking. Does anyone know how long after i stop smoking this will clear up? Will this affect me getting a Class 1 Aviation medical?

Are there anyways to speed up clearing up my lungs before my next medical? I have already quit smoking.

There are plenty of pilots that smoke. The one thing a pilot needs to worry about is high blood pressure and diabetes. Both disqualify you from flying.

Exactly! Many times nodules will show on a chest xray after you've had a bad cold. I wouldn't worry, my husband had one on his chest xray this past summer and it turned out to be nothing.
