I have worked with some reps that have been outstanding. I have also spoken with the spawn of Satan that have been hired by some companies.
Generally it is a low-paying, thankless job. I believe these companies get what they pay for.

The term Customer Service has been misrepresented recently and mistaken for Public Relations, therefore you do not get exactly the service you expect. Government offices including the Court Service Unit, Home Office, Education Department etc, now have positions for customer service while attending to the needs of the public who pay their wages, and that puts them in same league as Tesco or Asda where customer service is actually essential. What do you expect when your local council, hospital, school, MP treat you as a customer.

No, and I've worked as a CSR...it's the company's fault, they want you off the phone ASAP whether the problem is solved or not...and if you stay on the phone and try to help them, you get grief for being on the phone too long. They suck.
