Go to Microsoft site , click on support ,enter the problem in search. It will bring you to a page about purchasing pirate copy of any of their products , fill out the information and they will send you a free key/copy as long as you agree to send them the copy you have with all information about where you brought it from. ( I have to do this one time because of the same thing) Good luck.

A legal OEM XP home is £60 from Amazon if you also buy a mouse, and Linux is free.
Did you keep the receipt? You might want to try getting your money back...

The cheapest way is a OEM copy of XP home from some where like Ebuyer.com you will need to buy a internal component (an IDE cable is the cheapest) to qualify for it. see link below

If you bought it from someone claiming that they are selling a legit copy you can report them and take the innocent road (I know it happens on e-bay from time to time). If you knew you were buying a priated copy, good luck. You just told alot of poeple you buy pirated software. IF you did get it on e-bay report the sell to them as well.

I don't know whats funnier, the fact that you BOUGHT an illegal copy or the fact that you have just publicly announced it to the world. Just how naive are you?!!
Stop being such a skin flint and just buy an original copy. Its only £100 - if you can afford to spend money on illegal software you can afford to spend money on LEGAL software.

If you bought it by accident then report the person or company you bought it from. Then you are helping. If not tough, you are guilty and you just admitted it buying in public.
Sorry to be so blunt but either way you lost your money.
good luck

I wouldn't advertise buying a pirate if I were you, it's a crime and you could get into alsorts of bother with copyright law. Buy a proper version and stay schtum, it may cost more but if it works it has to be better on your wallet than dodgy goods and the trouble they bring!

what is the reason you need out for is it cause you cant get updates. if thats the reason you can get updates. you have to turn on automatic updates in control panel. by getting the updates automatically that bypasses the authorization process of going directly to windowsupdate.microsoft.com
