hi, if i get married on vacation in new jersey, can the marriage liscence be turned down as iam on holiday, and only there on avisa,? and will the justice of peice marry usa or do they have no legalities over this? i do plan to return home to england after my stay and file for the k-3 and go through the corect procedures as i have my daughter back home,when i spoke to the marriage liscence office over the fone in new jersey, all she mentioned was about where i was going to reside , i told her in new jersey eventually ,but going back to England to file for my visa.why would she ask that>??????????..lol or am i just being paranoid!??

Immigration status is different from marriages. Many states have blood test requirements, and some have 'waiting periods' for marriage, but this has nothing to do with immigration.

If somebody at the clerk's office asks you a question like that, it is perfectly acceptable to say that you have not yet decided. All you need for a license is money and identification. All you need to do the marriage is the license and a legal officiant -- minister, justice of the peace, etc.

No, you're fine ... you can get married, no sweat ... as someone said, sometimes there's a waiting period between the issuance of the license and when the marriage can take place ... it varies from state to state, between 3 and 30 days, so you'd better check that ... they may ask for an address, so give your boyfriend's address, no big deal ... has nothing whatsoever to do with immigration, so don't worry ... they won't refuse to marry you ...:)
