I would get her another "hit" of it in about three weeks. It is nasty isn't it. I think nemex tastes better. Very sweet.

Pyrantel is generic nemex. It come with many different names but is all basically the same thing. He will need another dose in 2-3 weeks. Then have a stool checked again at the next visit. In answer to your question no it does not kill the eggs that is why you do it again. He should pass the rounds in the next 24 hours or less.

Pyrantel pamote
It will kill all theworms and the eggs but you should re-treat the dog in a week or so if the vet wants to.
Sometimes worms can be tought to kill off all of them.
It is easier to treat again just to be sure.
Be sure to pick up all the poo as she can get reinfected if she gets into it.

Pyrantel is a great dewormer for dogs as well as puppies. Yes it kills the adult worms and the eggs. You need to use it in two seperate treatments. 10 days apart.

You will probably need to have your pup checked again in a couple weeks for more roundworms. It can take 2-3 dewormings sometimes to kill all the adults and eggs. Remember to continue to pick up the feces though or she will keep reinfesting herself. Also get her on a heartworm preventative like interceptor or sentinel, both of these products also deworm your dog monthly

Most dewormers kill both the adult worms and their eggs. Deworming is usually done twice, appx 2-3 weeks apart. You should stop seeing worms in the feces in about 2 weeks if the first dewormer worked, otherwise it will be appx 2 weeks after the 2nd deworming.

You need to give your dog another dose of the dewormer 10 days after she got the first one and then every 30 days after that. She will be passing the worms and eggs until they are no longer in her system.--Ash

usually a couple of bowel movements before they are all gone unless its a particularly bad infestation. roundworms are very common and they can get them just by walking in areas where other dogs who have them have pooped. make sure you wash your hands though as people can get them too. you can also use a once a month wormer if you want to pre-treat, ask your vet if there is one he recommends.

Take a fresh stool sample to your vet in about a week, one look under a microscope and he will be able to tell you if your dog needs a second treatment.

yes to the first one, and several days to the second. Puppies also tend to re-infect themselves so ask your vet when you should bring in another stool sample for testing.
