Because Mexicans represent 50% of the illegals here in the U.S. -- HALF FROM JUST ONE COUNTRY!!! That means the other 50% come from every other country combined. Fact is, we're getting flooded with way too many Mexicans ... the majority of new arrivals make no attempt to speak English whatsoever. It's time to make the system fair for people that want to immigrate from Europe, Russia, Africa and heck, even South America. Mexicans can just walk right across the desert and into the U.S., an African can't swim or raft his way 7000 miles across the Atlantic. I understand Mexico's a poor country but what about the poor people in Rwanda, Chechnya, Cambodia, Romania, Darfur and so forth. I actually hope that idiot Obrador succeeds in starting some kind of civil unrest in Mexico because it'll force the U.S. government to pay some real attention to the Mexican border in order to keep the swarm out. We're getting too way too many Mexicans; let's give others a chance at the American Dream as well.

'Jason D', Jessica Alba is actuallyDanish, French-Canadien, English and Italian ... in addition to Mexican. Last time I checked, Jessica Alba spoke perfect English and didn't demand that the U.S. bend its laws in order to accomodate her.

The answer is in your "question" or rather your elaboration of your question. Mexicans account for 50 percent of the illegal immigration into the US. Stop the Mexicans and you cut illegal immigration in half. As long as Mexicans are the biggest piece of the problem pie, then will be focused on.

I don't know where you got your 50% at but from all the reading I been doing it's more like 83% are mexican. I think the reason why people are pickin on the mexican for is because of how they are going at it in the US. If they didn't open there mouth it probally wouldn't have gotten way out of hand.
I agree with you about giving other country a chance to come here. Alot of them want to be US citizen something most of you mexican don't want. Mexico don't have to be a poor country if there government would get off his a** and start helping his people.

In the current debate over immigration, virtually all politicians--Republicans and Democrats alike--agree that the U.S. has to control its borders. But it’s only the southern border that they’re concerned about.
Since September 11 especially, politicians claim that tougher enforcement on the U.S.-Mexico border is of utmost importance in stopping terrorism. But not a single documented case of terrorists “infiltrating” the U.S has occurred at the Mexican border.
The politicians’ concerns about border control have nothing to do with security--and everything to do with using Mexican immigrants as scapegoats.
A look at the numbers proves this. Some 250 million people cross the border between Mexico and the U.S. each year. Less than 1 percent cross without authorization.

My job is immigration. I see all kinds of reason and excuses for illegal crossing. And I have to disagree with your stats! 80% of people coming to the US on visitors visa's stay here illegally. It is unfair to say that more than 1/2 are from Mexico. I talk to embassy's every day, from all over the world. The Philippines for example handle up to 5000 request a month. Filipinos are here by huge numbers, I would have to compare their numbers to the Mexican numbers.. Look around, Asians are flocking to the US. If they are here on student visas they over stay the visa and are also here illegally.

Its sad to see how ignorant a lot of you are. I am proud to have been born in Mexico... but of course my family couldn't make a decent living there so we moved to the US. My dad did it legally we got our permanent residence cards, and now i'm a citizen (something i did for college scholarships..and as a result i got a $62,000 scholarhip). Anyway I find the way you way you use your words offensive, the way you write about this "idiot Obrador" or the "swarm" of Mexicans. I'd like to see you, or anyone, become president and solve the problems. Yes, I do understand that what most Mexican immigrants are doing is illegal. But is it immoral?? Wouldn't you rather focus on murderers, terrorism, and the well being of people? And whats this about getting "way too many Mexicans? I'm assuming you aren't Native American because then that means that your ancestors came from somewhere else too...probably illegally as well. And about them not even trying to learn english?? How the hell would you know? My mom has lived here in the United States for 15 years and she has gone to English Literacy classes and bought programs to try to learn and she has picked up phrases and can manage but she is no where near fluent. Thats not her fault. That's not what America is. And why such a large percentage of Mexican immigrants?? You know the answer to that: jobs and its proximity. Cubans swim over here too....oh but they are under Communist rule you might say. Its all about trying to make a better living. This so called American Dream IS what everyone strives for, American or not. If people from Africa could swim such a distance they would do it too. Canadians aren't immigrating to the US as much because their economy isn't as bad shape as in Mexico. TRUST ME. Watching my grandma shiver because she can't afford a heater is the saddest thing. This is why my family came over here; to work to help the rest of our family. I don't mean to sound defensive but its hard not to when it hits so close to home. I love America and I love Mexico. I'm proud to be both. But its hard to see so much hate and negativity. Where's the love for your brothers and sisters.

I think that number sounds low, 50%. I think there is a higher percentage of illegals from Mexico.
I am tired of illegal aliens, or lawbreakers demanding anything.
Its time we built the wall!
My wife is a LEGAL immigrant from Asia. I had to pay almost 5 grand in legal fees to have her processed LEGALLY!
Illegal alien illiterates cross the Mexican (and some Canadian, not too many) border, demanding things.
Greedy corporations are happy for the cheap labor. But that is driving down the wages for the working man.
I own a company, and I wouldn't even consider hiring illegals. Because it is against the law, and morally is wrong to do so.
Our politcians are not getting the job done. We want a wall!
We don't want to give them benefits and amnesty!
Lets vote out these clowns who think otherwise!

The people who ask this question over and over and OVER again are either Hispanic and are defending their "people" or they live up north where they don't see the illegal MEXICAN immigration problem. They don't understand it because they don't live in a border state.
Sorry, I thought I did understand your question, and the point you were trying to make. Hmmm....I guess I'm an idiot. But in my answer, I was talking to you, not to the other posters. I was just explaining to you my opinion of why that question keeps getting asked here.

More than half are Mexicans. Way more. AND more than half of them believe that the southwest is Mexico. And no one is picking on them. They are picking on us and we are defending ourselves. AND it is not our responsibility to solve the world's poverty, war, etc. It is our government's responsibility to solve AMERICA's problems and put our people first. The people being denied the American dream right now are Americans and we do NOT have to continue denying Americans their dreams to try to save the rest of the world instead.

Secure the border and give them amnesty.
Another sweeping generalization.
Are you sure that the government will secure the border if there is civil unrest in Mexico?Your idea could backfire. What if the US allowed more ppl in because of the "civil unrest"?And gave them refugee status?hhhmmmmmm.
