1. Why are the majority of people who think this Latino?
2. Why is it supposedly an act of a bigot to not support an illegal act?
3. I came here with my family from Mexico legally, but unlike some I was raised to assimilate and take pride in my new country, by speaking its language and working to make it better, so why do people think just because of my background I should support open borders?
4. Why do people always bring up "but this country was founded on immigrants..." yeah, that was 200 years ago when we actually needed citizens, now this country is suffering massive wage cuts, tax increases, lower standard of living, more diseases like TB, larger classrooms, and higher crime due to illegal immigration, so your outdated reference is nonsense.
5. Why do people always bring up "This country was originally blahblah's then you stole it?" Look throughout history, most major countries were stolen! Stop living in the past and get a real argument.

➔ Immigration
1. Because that is what La Raza and Mecha tell them. They tell them they do not want them because they are brown. It makes it easier than to admit they broke the law.
2. It isn't. This is just an excuse made by people who have no respect for our laws.
3. Welcome to the United States. Thanks for respecting our laws and country. People think you should support open borders because they do. It makes them feel like they are right. Additionally, as a Mexican legal immigrant, you are proof they could have followed the laws, but did not. With legals like you on their side, they feel justified.
4. All good points. However, they are spouting propaganda quoted to them. They have never actually looked up the statistics or questioned the reasoning.
5. Another good point. But it all goes back to trying to make us feel as though they are entitled to something from us. They want to guilt trip us because they know that Americans are very soft hearted as a rule.
Don't feel harsh toward them. They are guilt tripped and brain washed.
People use scare tactics to create a sense of "us vs. them."
The only card they have is the race card, all the others are against them. It's easier to point the finger than to admit the mistake. Keep forcing them to face the facts, sooner or later they will get it.

1. Because the country isn't trying to figure out where to put the wall to stop illegals coming in from Maine to Florida - The wall is designed to stop people from Mexico from coming in - so the majority would think they are Latino....
2. Mainly because of the widespread fear that these morons have created - yet after watching a dateline or 20/20 after these fruit farmers are showing how the jobs they have available to pick these fruits were mostly done by illegals, with the tough laws they couldn't hire them - so expect fruit prices to go up because we have such lazy American a-h's that think they are too good for the job as a fruit picker.... Keep in mind MOST people pick and choose what they see as being "illegal"...
3. Nobdoy expects anything from you - but we all remember those protest in California where Latino's were holding Mexican Flags in the air, instead of American flags... annnd because you are Latino, people assume you fit the mold... Be thankful you aren't an Arab....
4. If anything I hear "this country was founded on Christian Principles" which I think is funny because I can only imagine that God wasn't too happy when those same principles involved murdering native americans, only to steal their land & only to introduce the new world to slavery.... As far as Wages & Taxes, let's rely on the Republican Party to not come up with anymore ideas on how to solve this... and by the way this country is suffering regardless of the illegals - we're still jailing whites & blacks as well.. And we have wayyyyyyy to many religious morons that feel their opinions should outweigh another persons rights....
5.The people that do not enjoy this argument are people that don't like to look like hypocrites... Because this country originally belonged to the blahblah's and we did take it... just because most countries were stolen still doesn't make it right... and what was it you were saying about "illegal" activity? If another country came to America and decided to steal it - would you just sit back and say "well history shows it happens, I guess it's our turn" or would you say "hey that illegal they can't do that!!"???
Like I said MOST people pick & choose what they decide is to be "illegal" and you managed to prove that point - I'm sure you will be giving me the points for this answer....
Try the high dive at the Lake of Hypocrisy, I hear it's wild!!!

O.k. most Latinos I know are against illegal immigration. The problem's and arguments are going both ways. This certain group hates the other so out comes the mud slinging. This government has no idea what to do with the immigration situation so guess what, now all the haters both sides get a say.The comments are usually negative in nature because people lack the ability to think.
I don't believe in mass deportation but I do believe everyone should be registered and contribute to the betterment of this country.

Tough one to answer, mostly because you make a lot of assumptions. Leaving that aside:
1. Latino's (as a group) represent the largest group of illegal aliens. Therefore any action seen as an attack on "Mexican" aliens becomes one of a personal nature.
2. I can't answer your question as it's phrased.
3. See #1. The Latino community has painted this issue as an attack on them, rather than an attempt to stem illegal immigration.
4. They bring it up because it's somewhat relevant. Unfortunately, what they forget is that no one is advocating the end of LEGAL immigration.
5. A country only belongs to the people who control it. With that in mind, any failure on the part of our government to stem illegal immigration is a surrender that will allow parts of our country to essentially secede from the union.

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is pushing the Senate to
approve a strict border security bill that was passed by the
house last week.
The Secure Fence Act of 2006 calls for 700
miles of double fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border and
excludes any provisions for President Bush’s guest worker or amnesty programs.
Read that last section again ,doesn't that sound like music
to your ears.,well it does to mine and I'm not a racist and you can call me anything you like.I know who and what I am so it doesn't matter

Because there's no real effective way to justify illegal immigration in debate, either along, economic, social or legal lines, so when faced with the losing side of a debate, many like to call names. Calling one a bigot because they've whooped your *** in debate is quite popular particularly for liberals.
Again its part of the toxicity which has tinged American politics.

Have you read some of the questions? If so then you will know. Not only do we think they are they show it. Have you seen the one about having illegals as pets? Or the one about them not showering? Then you'll check out the replies from those that say stupid things in answer. Then come back and ask that question.

I hate it when people say we're all immigrants.I'm not!!!I was born here,as were my parents and grandparents.
But if you think about it,every country in the world was built on immigration. But,if you move to any other country in the world, guess what, you have to adapt to their ways.

YJ is right... most of us don't support illegal immigration.. we think many on here are bigots because they bash Mexicans in general.. half of the time they don't even distinguish between Hispanics, Mexicans and ILLEGAL immigrants. They lump them together and bash bash bash.. read through some answers in your spare time.. one lady today stated "they are learning from the blacks" now you tell me.. what is YOUR definition of bigot.
