I have heard some bible scholars say that they doubt that Allah and YHWH are the same. I'm not completely sure why.
Perhaps because the only prophet who seems to speak for Allah is Muhammed, and many of us simply don't believe that he is a prophet of the god of Abraham, Issac and Jacob....YHWH....(I AM that I AM or I WILL BE WHO I WILL BE).
It seems to me that if YHWH were that adamant about being called only 'Allah' as Muslims claim, it would have turned up in even the Hebrew scriptures. Of course, I guess that is why they say the Hebrew scriptures are 'corrupted'. I'm not a theologian, but I'm not quite buying that either.
Hoping the best for you...

Because God is in three parts: Jehovah the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I know Allah translates as God in Arabic, but unless you believe in the Triune God or the Holy Trinity if you prefer, we do not worship the same God. Peace

I understand where you are coming from in thinking that!
What happens is the more one knows about the religion, the clearer it become they are completely different. There are conflicts galore between the koran and the Bible. They can not mix to anyone who has done their homework.
Keep in mind even the last parts of the Bible were written at least 400 years before the koran.
The thing with Jews is that they say that the Messiah predicted in the old testament has not come yet. (they don't think it was Jesus)
That moon god thing about allah you mentioned...was pretty close.....there was a moon god(i don't remember if it was named allah) was around way before Mohammad was around and was popularly being worshiped in that part of the world. Mohammad shaped or changed his teachings to encompass the moon god in order to gain ground.
There's no point to explain every little difference, but the biggest thing is that Christianity is the ONLY one where God came here to live a perfect, sinless life and then give himself to die at the hands of those who hated him and mocked him.

I don't think that they do believe that they are different gods. I think they believe that the various religions have different views of who/what God is and that they believe the others to be incorrect.
Sometimes this is minor -- like the fact that most Protestants believe that you only need to accept Jesus to be saved -- while Catholics believe that good acts are also important. Sometimes they are major, like the fact that Jews and Muslims don't believe that Jesus is God -- or the fact that Mormons thing that the trinity are three separate beings.
Christians have no problem with the God of Muslims -- they have problems with the beliefs of Muslims.

Christians believe Allah is different from God because they have different natures and characteristics. The Bible teaches us that one of God's most important moral attributes is love. However, in the Koran, out of all the 99 names for Allah, not one of them is love. This is only one example many that show that they are not the same God. If they were the same God, then why do they say different things? Why does one affirm the divinity of Christ, and the other abhor it? Why does one reveal Himself as one God in three persons, and the other calls this the sin of shirk? Christianity even goes so far as to claim that Allah is not even another god! "I even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no other God." (Isaiah 43:11). Please do your homework before accusing others of ignorance. There are answers out there. God Bless you, friend.

The Bible says there are many gods but there is only one true God. Satan is the god of this system of things as pointed out in the Bible. Just praying to god does not guarantee that the true God is listening to your prayer. The true God has a name and Jesus used that name when he prayed and spoke to his Father, that name is Jehovah(English translation of YHWH), how would you like it if every time someone wanted to talk to you they said Hey man or Hey woman before the conversation? You would find it frustrating and disrespectful, wouldn't you? He knows your name, you should also know His, and use it. Whenever you meet someone new, don't you let them know your name and don't you want to know theirs, why should it be any different with Jehovah?

Because the media does not depict a fair definition of understanding of Islam to the masses, and most are too lazy to find out for themselves. It's quite unfortunate, the Koran actually has a lot of good things to say. And like the Bible, it is open to interpretation, most people have even less understanding about the word "jihad" then they do "Allah"

Allah is not the God of the bible. If Allah were the God of the bible, he would have a son, Jesus Christ, who died on a cross, rose again, and is the only way to the Father.
Islam states Allah has no son. Islam states Jesus did not die on a cross. Islam does not point the way to the son of God, Jesus, as the only way to salvation.
Therefore, it is impossible for Allah to be the God of the bible. There is only one God, and only one way to God, by Jesus Christ.

There is only one God and that is God the Creator. You can't say they are the same God, all the words mean God, but their God and my God are not the same. And people are not ignorant, they realize that everyone thinks their own God is THE GOD. But the muslims do not worship God, the Creator of the universe and the giver of life.
