My dog has fleas and i can not get rid of them. I also have 3 cats and 2 rabbits. None of them seem to have fleas. I have tried Bob martins, 4 fleas and front line as well as powdering the carpets twice a week and still he is crawling with fleas does any one know how i can get rid of them as he scratches all day and all night and has licked all the fur from his back?

Ask your vet for capstar. It is a tablet that is given orally that kills the fleas that are on the animal within 45 minutes. Then vacuum ALL the carpets, move the furniture, wash all bedding and dispose of vacuum bag(or empty canister) outside. Then use a vet prescribed flea preventative ALL the time(once a month) Don't use that over the counter stuff IT DOESN'T work. Not sure what Bob Martin or 4 Fleas is. Get a reputable product from your vet.

Fleas are bad this year. Just because the cats and rabbits don't show signs of fleas doesn't mean they don't have them. Some animal are allergic to the bites, this is why they scratch and chew.
Best line of defense is contact a professional to have your house sprayed. The products we purchase from the store are not going to kill the eggs. Once the house is done. Give ALL animals a dip. You can take them and have it done. Then process with Frontline for the dog and the cats.
Don't worry the hair will grow back. If you happen to live where it gets cold... once colder weather comes along the fleas, not eggs will die.

My dog had fleas once; and I washed him with flea shampoo for dogs. However, the fleas did not go away so I washed a second time then I spray him with some dog flea spray I bought in the Pet Isle of a grocery store. That worked, I also bought him a flea collar. If all else fails call a vet and ask for suggestions

Try Revolution. My cat was covered in fleas. I gave him a bath to kill as many as I could with water and then once he dried put on Revolution. Within an hour I noticed the fleas falling off. If you have them on your carpet, make a mixture of boric acid and table salt and let it sit on your carpet for two days and then vacuum. If you have a vacuum with a bag, make sure to change it because the fleas will live in that. The boric acid dries the fleas, larvae and eggs out. Also, I have a pug that is constantly scratching. If he looks too uncomfortable I give him children's benadryl. There is a product for irritated skin that contains hydrocortisone that I use on him too. None of these remedies are too expensive. Hope it helps!

Multi-step cure. Take dog for a professional flea dip. Apply lime to yard. Spray carpet and furniture in house with Conquer or Ficam and Precor. Put flea collar on dog. Flea cycle should be complete in about 30 days.

Yes, I also think that you need to see the vet about this, if Frontline hasn't solved the problem and you've used it correctly, since it is supposed to keep fleas at bay for some time after you've applied it. If the fleas have established themselves in your home, it is notoriously difficult to get rid of them, and the tips you've been given are all good, but you might need to get professional help if the infestation is really bad. However, please go quickly to see the vet, who can at least give your dog something straight away to relieve the itching, while you sort out the fleas! Good luck!

i know actally what you mean.... my dog is the same..... all you have to do is get some stuff that gets rid of fleas... then you also get some other stuff of a different brand and double dip him/her when you are done with that... you may want to flea bomb the house, and take you pets with you!! also you may want to get a flea collar to!

I use front line on my dog, and don't get any trouble at all. It might be worth checking with you vet to ask some advice.
