Or would you stand proud and say "Well, you didn't really offer any proof. Sorry that you gave me a brain to think for myself."

Yes, once I knew it was too late, why bother grovelling and begging. I will do exactly that, plus throw some insults I've been wanting to hurl at the big lazy sky basturd for all the terrible things he allows to continue to happen on earth.

AARR Matey

You took the words right out of my mouth "Well, you didn't really offer any proof. Sorry that you gave me a brain to think for myself. You made me like this" is EXACTLY what I would say. Plus *IF* he was real why would he play mind games with fossils etc?

Beg who for forgiveness? Atheists do NOT believe there is a God. There is no one to beg for forgiveness.
What if YOU are wrong and there is no God? Ever think about that? Leave people alone.

I would tell him that I don't accept the blood of an supposed innocent son to cover my errors in life. That would make me an accessory to your murder. I fix my own errors and use my brain to navigate the world I was born into.

Regardless of what the response might be from your odd god, I think the judeo-christian god and allah are blood thirsty monsters and have no sense of what is noble or good.

Here is a lesson for your invisible monkey in the sky - don't kill your only son. Son's are for talking with and teaching and enjoying their company.
Lesson 2: resurrection from the dead creates a zombie and they don't smell very nice and they can't get dates; remember once dead always dead.

If there is a being besides myself who will judge my actions and reward or punish me accordingly...I couldn't really beg. What would be the use in my saying anything. The question is whether that being has the same values as I do...another thing I can't really control.

If I was wrong then I would be happy to spend eternity in hell with Gandhi, Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Confucius, Bruce Lee, Malcolm X and others while the xians are in heaven with Hitler and Jefferey Dahmer.

I sometimes consider repenting on my death bed, just to let the christians know that I was able to live a life of "sin" and according to their religious loop hole I'll still get the same spot in heaven as them, even though they went to church every sunday of their lives.
On the other hand I don't want to give them the satisfaction of having someone accept their beliefs, so I'll probably just tell them to get fukced.

I'm assuming you mean an atheist finds out he or she was wrong at the moment of their death? I think that if there is a god, he or she must have made me the way I am for a reason, so I don't sweat it.

If it turns out that I'm wrong and i get a chance to plead my case before god... I'll debate the sucker. Given what i know about the world I've done no wrong by not believing, if that's his case against me, that's pretty sad.

I would beg for forgiveness if God was a hot woman in a mini-skirt and high heels.
