I was wondering cause if there is a word, and it has to be an actual word not an abrivation, i get extra credit in my French Class

I am only familiar with a Proper name that meets with that criteria. It is the family name of Hrapsky. It is of Russian decent and pronounced "Rap-ski. I am guessing your French teacher is asking about this for a french word that follows the same silent rule in it's spelling. Good luck

Hwyl (Welsh) which means divine inspiritation. But of course that w is a vowel. There are plemty of words beginning hy and many people insist that y is not a vowel, but it is really.

The only one I can think of is Hmong. It refers to a cultural group in southeast Asia, I think mainly in Laos.
