How come all protestants say before I was saved. I don't see how it's possible to know that your saved just in believing in Jesus. Jesus said that those who adulterate, fronicate and all that are destined to eternal fire while protestants claim it is hard to stop sinning but were still saved even though thats againts the Lords teachings..... and also how can one have faith without good works as St. James says but protestants still say good works are worthless all you need to do is believe in Jesus protestantism is againts the bible as I see it. and how come protestants don't believe in Judgement Right when you die?

Proverbs 17, Ecclesiasticus 7,Micheas 3,Micheas 7,Zacharias 9,2 Machabees 12,Matthew 5,Matthew 12,Matthew 18,Luke 12,1 Corinthians 3, 1 Corinthians 15,Apocalypse 21 read all those.
"And his lord being angry, delivered him to the torturers until he paid all the debt. 35 So also shall my heavenly Father do to you, if you forgive not every one his brother from your hearts" and we believe only GOD can forgive us but the the lord says says
Jn.20 23 Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained that is what the priest does absolves and retains if he thinks that the person is not truly merciful and he gives ways for us to do penance. and catholics read the bible so..ye

Not by works should any man boast. God is our ultimate judge. Leave it up to him. Not one person is without sin. Eternal damnation will come to those who continue in sin on a daily basis without repentance and deliverance.

The "marriage of Good and Truth" that God is points to the fact that charity, faith and good works is by no means an old and outdated expression. Faith apart from having good in action is not really faith.
Some people are taught to give a date of their salvation but my church does not do that.
Being saved is being reborn or what is the same getting a heart of flesh or the circumcision of the heart. Only the Lord can give someone a good heart so I think some people are being presumptuous.

First off, don't lump all Protestant groups together. As an Anglican, I can tell you that my denomination, generally speaking, doesn't even use Fundamentalist language such as "saved" or "unsaved". Among the groups who use this as part of their theological language, there is the "once saved, always saved" camp versus the groups who believe that one can backslide. It seems that you don't have a grip on the beliefs and practices of the whole of Protestantism, but rather, just a tiny sub-segment of it. And who, in all of Christianity, has ever said that good works are worthless? Some groups believe that good works will definitely not save you, but to suggest that they're utterly worthless seems doctrinally unsound, regardless of which denomination one belongs to.

When a person feels the need for a savior, he will ask God to forgive him of all his sins and be sorry for them and willing to turn away from them. Then realize that Jesus is the Son of God who came to earth to die for you, so your sins could be forgiven. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and be your personal savior. This is salvation, and after you will want to read Gods word, the bible. Go to church and pray and try to obey the ten commandments. If you mess up and are sorry for it, ask God to forgive you and be willing to turn away from the sin, and He will. Its not hard to get saved and know it, you would be better off going to church and making the decision publicly. The presence of the Lord is usually in a good church and alter call. I would recommend Assembly Of God, or Pentecostal Holiness churches.

I think you may have been misled. No one said that you were not going to sin, but the apostle Paul says that sin should not be your master. There should be no reason why one should be enslaved to sin. If you believe in Christ and His finished work, you understand how you're suppose to live. Christ has provided a way of escape. He is that way. Romans 6,7,8 outlines this for you. Why do I believe this, I just do, with all my heart. There' s a lot more I could say, but it will take too much time. Email me if you like.

The scripture teaches in 1John 5:13
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God
John is telling us that eternal life is ours now not maybe after some judgment someday but ours NOW. If you don't know for sure you are an heir of eternal life then you have to put your trust in Christ and receive that blessing. It's yours for the taking God isn't a respecter of person so it doesn't matter what church you attend or what you have been taught. There in one name under heaven whereby we must be saved that name Christ Jesus. Nothing and I mean NOTHING else matters... Jim

el_tiberone,
I think that I understand where you are coming from. I would understand because you are spaeaking as someone who did not know the Holy Spirit. BTW, I am not a Pentecostal.
The Faith that we exercise brings the Holy Spirit. It dwells in us, and we are subject to a lot of conflicts of we are not in faith. The Holy Spirit brings us the ability to know God, ESPECIALLY interpret scripture, and other gifts defined by the New Testament, especially through Paul.
The Holy Spirit brings us God's will, and if we are tuned in, those works that it brings us to are to His credit. That's why you might hear a Christian say, " Glory to God." Because God put us to it in the first place.
You are missing in this puzzle, theat piece, the Realationship that we have with God through the Holy Spirit.
I would try to understand James, but he was a legalist. If you really want to understand grace, I would stick to the Gospels, and the Pauline Epistles.

ROMANS 10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Dosnt appear like that is against the Bible to me. Also
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Please note the period at the end of this scripture. It does not say... first by the priest then by the cardnials, then by the pope, then by the saints and then by me. It says BUT BY ME.
God bless you will be keeping you in prayer

I could answer all your questions, but I have a few for you....
Why do you worship Mary? She was not devine in any sense other than being chosen.
Why do you believe in purgatory? The bible does not support that.
Why do you go to a priest for confession when Jesus made a way for you to go to the Father on your own?

The Bible says all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. Jesus said,"That if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart, the slate will be wiped clean.
That's why it's called a born again Christian.

You don't quit being a Christian just because you sinned. Thats the point of Christ dying on the cross. Despite all of our flaws, Jesus still lvoes us and forgives us. We aren't perfect. As for good works. Its not that good works aren't good and all that, its that just because you do good works doesn't neccesarily mean you get an automatic ticket into heaven. Good works alone cannot save you. As for Judgment day. Dunno about that. I think a lot of people think Judgement day will be this one day period in which God lines everyone up and plays This is your Life on a giant movie screen in heaven. Truth is, no one knows.
