Yes, you can have firearms in your place of residence, however, you must have a concealed handgun license (or peace officer license) in order to carry any kind of handgun. A gun is considered to be concealed even if it's on a hip holster in most cases. It's crazy to think that you can walk through downtown holding a shotgun (properly and safely, and not in places that have firarms prohibited signs) and not need a license because the shotgun is not considered a concealable weapon.

No its not true. Civilians have the right to bear arms in the constitution (i.e. the right to own a gun), each state gets to decide what the requirements are for a civilian in that state to have a gun. Generally, one must have a license to own a gun and a background check for certain types of guns. Nearly every state that allows civilians to carry concealed weapons requires a license for a concealed gun. So your answer is NO.

You need a license to carry a concealed weapon, but not to own one. There is a background check to make sure that you are not a criminal who has given up their right to own a firearm, but no license is required to simply own a gun in most states.

Some states/cities have chosen to ignore the Second Amendment and have made it nearly impossible for honest, law-abiding citizens to have a firearm in their home, but most of us are still free!

I have 2 arms, a right one and a left one. I also have a drivers license.

Our constitution says the right to bear arms shall not be infringed. Nothing about a license.

Our founding Fathers gave us the right to own and carry guns. When forming this nation they were not completely sure that their grand experiment would work. If they were wrong they wanted us to be able to over throw the dictators or Kings that had taken power. When the people can over power their Government the government does what the people want. That is why corrupt governments always want to take guns from the people and only give them to people that support them. Communist, Fascists, Socialist governments don`t like people to have guns.
Leftist in America would very much like to take this right away and continually try.

In some states you have to have a license to own a handgun, but other states, no, you do not need a license for a handgun or rifle.
In some western states it is legal to carry your handgun on your side in public if it is not concealed.
You can also obtain a concealed handgun permit fairly easily.

There is a right in the US Constitution that gives American citizens the right to bear arms ( own guns)

But that right is very restricted in many states, and one can not carry a pistol in most states without a licence.

Every state is different. Some allow you to carry a handgun if it's not concealed. Many do not require any license to own a gun. Some allow a gun inside your car as long as it's not readily accessible (FL) where it can actually be in your glovebox.

Yes. The Second Amendment to our Bill of Rights ensures the right to bear arms.
For some firearms, such as automatic weapons, I believe you either have to have a license or register them.
