I've heard that, in the United States, the richest 10% of the population controls 90% of the wealth. (or something like that)

So...how about they pay 90% of the taxes?

I like it. Of course, it doesn't have a chance in heck of being implemented, but I like it.

Where would the benefit to make money be if we had to pay for those that did not make money? The top 10% already pays 67% of taxes & the top 25% pay 83% of taxes. It has been that way for over 15%.

If you earn the money, that is suppose to make it yours in the USA. A lesson we have lost over the years. Too many want more than their share, instead of working.

how about, everyone pitches in? It pisses me off that I pay in and somebody else comes along and pops out more and more kids they can't afford and so I have to pay in even more to support them and come tax time they get more money back than they even paid in.

Just FYI, The U.S. already has a progressive tax structure where the more you earn the higher the percentage of your income is taxed.

While I'm not rich (I'm barely squeaking into middle class), I believe we need to either leave things alone OR switch to a flat tax where every person contributes the same % of their income.
You make a dollar or a million dollars, your percentage is the same!

Our tax system is progressive, meaning the more you earn, the more you pay. Everything has limits though. What you are proposing is a de facto socialist economic system.

How about we try something really radical. The more money you make, the more you get to keep. Or spend. Or give to charity. Or whatever the heck you want to do with your own money.

They didn't get rich by playing dumb. The rich control the congress, The Congress controls the IRS, and like it or not the IRS controls you
