What if I'm wrong about Jesus and you get that "I told you so" feeling. Are you willing to risk feeling that for eternity?

I have never heard of this wager thing. And I am not scared. We as Christians know what we know because we have had a personal experience with God. Why should I be afraid. I know God loves me and I know I will be with Him. Do you think we would waste our time telling you about Jesus if we didn't know for sure. We do it because we care about you. We don't want you to be sorry. Whatever it takes.

Shall I use your own quote against you?

"Do you think we would waste our time telling you about Jesus if we didn't know for sure"

How sure could you possibly be? Are you sitting on proof that the rest of the world should see? Got something I can test or refute?

Somehow I never get a "yes" answer to these questions. Yawn.

No, I've never wondered "what if I'm wrong about Jesus"? I know I'm not wrong, because I'm Jewish and have never seen anything or read anything or heard anything that would convince me to become Christian. And since I've been visiting YA R&S, I've learned that my convictions have deepened and being Jewish has never been more important to me. I would rather die than become a Christian. And no, I'm not going to hell for all eternity...that's a Christian concept. I know deep down that I'm going to a completely different place with no fire, torture and suffering (such violent images from a "peaceful" religion!), and I couldn't be happier about it.

There is no way in which I'd get punished for believing or not believing in God. If his divineness comes for those of us on earth and he is "supposed" to be a loving and just god, then would he really punish me? No. He is supposed to love us all, no matter what so unless you've sinned greatly then I'm sure that IF there is a god, we'll all get to this heaven all you religious fanatics talk non-stop about.

Pascal's Wager. Boring and stupid. Has come up a squillion times here alone. Doesn't convince anybody.

I don't want to waste my life on a bunch of bull$h!t rules for something I don't even believe in.

I see this trotted out as a conversion tool all the time and honestly I can't think of a lousier reason to convert to a religion. Is God so stupid that he wouldn't know that you were just hedging your bets? Would a God this petty and low stooping to collect followers be worthy of following? It seems more probable to me that God is not like this.

and if you are wrong ?
and im not talking about ... there is nothing to loose if you simply dont exist
i am talking about .. what if another faith has it right and you are praying to the wrong God who also has eternal damnation for unbelievers
no one knows if they are right
but we can all believe in what feels right for us ... even atheists .. and im sure that God will understand this more than many of his followers

Hello newbie -this is called Pascal's Wager.

Somebody trots this out every day or so.

Pathetic.

And yes, you are scared - that's why you believe.
