If it's not fleas, then first try the oatmeal shampoo. You can get it at a regular pet store in several brands. I also use a doggie conditioning rinse on my lab which helps with the itchiness and dandruff, and everyone comments on how soft and shiny she is as well as how good she smells. But she's not very happy with the extra cycle during bathtime.
However, the cause of my lab's itchiness is allergies. She's sensitive to corn, so I switched to Nutro Natural Choice because the Iams I had her on before had a lot of corn in it. Also, since she's a large breed, I give her a Benadryl in a cheese cube 2 - 3 times a day. Check with your vet to determine if the dogs are suffering from allergies and whether or not the Benadryl is recommended for their situation.

Make sure it isn't flees or ticks bothering them first and if not u can try shampooing, but it may not work. I would suggest Science Diet Sensitive Skin dog food which stops the itching and keeps there coat shiney. Our dog had that problem and it worked!!! Some dogs just have sensitive skin. It doesn't give a smell like after a bath, but it works for the itching which is 2 out of 3.

My first concern would be why are they itchy?
My Jack Russel has allergies! She gets rash and itchy and bites the fur off her tail in the autumn. A topical cream prescribed by the vet helps. No kind of shampoo will help.
My Yorkie has dry skin. A gentle oatmeal shampoo works great but in a day or two she's itchy again. A bit of dry cat food (it's oilier) mixed in with her own food seems to be helping.
I can tell if they get fleas because my cat itches too. Advantage works the best - do NOT buy the cheaper knock off of this at the pet store - it can cause seizures and death in some animals.

First I would have to wonder why the dogs are itchy. Fleas? Dry skin? Or other problem? If your bathing your dogs a lot this can cause dry skin. Dogs should only get a bath 2 times in the summer and one in the winter. If it is fleas, the best thing is a flea dip, have the house treated by a professional that is if they are inside dogs, and then make sure they get Frontline or whatever your vet recommends. Products like them from Wal-Mart just don't work. Best plan of attack for itchy dogs is a trip to the vet.

They are probably itching from fleas. Try Advantage for dogs.
There are commercial dog shampoos that will do the trick for you. But don't bathe them too much or you will cause even more itchy skin for them. And make sure you don't get the shampoo in their eyes and that you rinse them off completely.

Oatmeal shampoo HANDS DOWN is the best to keep their skin from being itchy and still conditions the coat. However, if you do not know WHY they are itching, take them to your vet to rule out parasites or allergies. Some dogs develop dry, itchy skin due to nutritional deficiencies. I suggest visiting the vet to rule out disease, then purchase some higher quality food fortified with Omega fatty acids (salmon oil), and bathe them in oatmeal shampoo.

Front line which you can get from your vet is excellent, if your dogs have fleas which is the usually reason if they itch.
There are many shampoos and conditioners for dogs, most of which will help to give them a nice coat

You can try the oatmeal shampoo, but if they're both itching, I'd have to guess there are fleas involved. Advantage worked best on my pet, but I've heard that Frontline works better for others, so if one doesn't work, try the other.

Rinsing must be thorough to accomplish clean haircoat! For skin luster give them egg whites 3x a week! Brush; nose-to-tail,reverse, and then comb; spine to tummy include legs; twice daily for canines kept outdoors. Flea powder in areas indoors that they will lay down in.

I'd check if they had flees first.no harm in getting flea powder, then using the shampoo after a week or so.
