If I believe in God I suspect my notion is very different from your view. I don't believe in Hell or Satan and so far as sin goes it depends on what you are defining as sin. Some people define sin as things I think are fine and even among Bible believers there seems to be some debate as to what is considered "sin". I know Christians who think all GLBT are evil and I know some who think they are as much God's creation as anything else. The question is what is God's notion of sin? Different humans have different ideas about this. Who can prove they are correct? No one.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Well we are going to sin because we were born into sin. But once you get saved and baptized you will go to heaven. Just ask for forgiveness. But no one can tell you better than the bible. Trust me.

Your statement is incorrect. The one way ticket to hell is NOT sinning it is one's unacceptance of Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Savior of all. As to the question of why do we sin. Because it is easier to sin than to live perfectly righteous.

We sinned because our higher power or "god" gave us that little miracle called "free will", it is our ability to choose. Hell is a world created to put fear into people, not an actual place.

Speak for yourself - I dont beleive this crap.

ASk yourself this - if your God is truly an all loving, all knowing God, why would he create a place like Hell? After all, wouldnt he know that we are bound to make mistakes?? The very concept of Hell is ridiculous....

All have sinned - yes even you sin - but Jesus died so we can have those Sins wash away! There is the difference - those who do not believe - their sin bucket over floweth - but the ones who do - get their bucket emptied out by Jesus!

The Jewish view of satan, heaven and hell is very different from the Christian view. No one has been there and returned to tell us about it -- not even Jesus.
