I need to get a student loan. Work and School is just not cutting it. I'm falling behind on school while trying to survive on my own as I maintain a job.

Whom do I talk to in order for me to get a Student loan? How much can I borrow? I really need some guidance here. Thanks.

You have to go to your bursurar's office (spelling) and get a FAFSA form, and submit that. You have to federally qualify for a student loan, and the way you do that is via the FAFSA form.

Student Loans are only available to those doing a full time Unniversity Course or A specific type of course in College.

I dont think they do it for anyone still at mainstream school.

Student Loans Direct if you are in the UK...they are on the internet.

well you go to the financial aid office at the college/ university your attending and fill out all the forms they ask you which will be an online FASFA form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) which you can do now on your computer .. the schools financial aid form.. and all the paperwork they ask for for the loan

you need to sign up for at least 2 classes ( which is considered fulltime) so i suggest you sign up for online classes if your working ( i did and they were extremely easy ..for me anywayz)

but because your working your EFC number will probably be lower than say someone who isnt working who recieves the full maximum amount ( i had no job at the time i applied for aid and got $7,000 for tuition and living expenses- it actually pays not to be working or have any finances in this case) the EFC number you'll be given after you to go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov and complete the application determines how much money you are eligible for. thats your Expected Family Contribution number or EFC

the amount you recieve all depends on how much you need for tuition and living expenses so if you have your own expenses or job it will be lower than if you did not have any income.

i suggest since you have to work fulltime and maintain a househould at the same time to go to a community college where the tution is alot cheaper.. tuition in county (living in the same county as the community college) at the community college i go to for 2 classes per semster is usually between $700-$800

your issued a FEDERAL GRANT before you have to even apply for a loan.. you dont have to pay the grant back.. i got a $2000 grant ($1,000 for each semester) before i even applied for my loan and it paid for all of my tuition which was around $800 plus enough left for books.. BUT IM NOT SURE if youll recieve the $2000 with whatever EFC rating you end up with... i cant remember if the $2000 federal grant was the standard amount for everybody or not or if it was based on your EFC .. youll have to fill out the online application yourself first to find out or ask someone in the financial aid office at the school you go to..

but if you are eligible for the $2000 grant id use that for full tuition and books and take online classes and do my classwork at night or weekends
