It is not something that I had ever heard of until I joined this group.. What things is the fsm supposed to have done to have so many followers??? When you say RRRaamen, are you referring to ramen noodles or what???? I am actually being serious with these questions.

okay, I clicked on the link that several of you offered to me. But it did not explain much about the religion of it. I am wondering who came up with calling it the "fsm". I would like to know more about the founder and what not so that when I answer questions I can have a fact based answer.
This site did however explain the reason why so many people are talking like pirates today.

In asking this question I do not want bashing remarks about other people's beliefs. I know what my beliefs are and no one can sway me from them. But, in order to state your case when you answer a question, you should know both sides of it. That is why it is called DEBATE.

FSM came from a website that put up an open letter to the Kansas School Board regarding "Intelligent Design Theory" in their classrooms. The author suggested that while Intelligent Design was a good theory, they should also include his theory - Flying Spaghetti Monsterism - which was equal to the Intelligent Design argument. After all, he argued, they should present all that theories and let the students decide.

The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, while having existed in secrecy for hundreds of years, only recently came into the mainstream when this letter was published in May 2005.

With millions, if not thousands, of devout worshippers, the Church of the FSM is widely considered a legitimate religion, even by it’s opponents - mostly fundamentalist Christians, who have accepted that our God has larger balls than theirs.

Some claim that the church is purely a thought experiment, satire, illustrating that Intelligent Design is not science, but rather a pseudoscience manufactured by Christians to push Creationism into public schools. These people are mistaken. The Church of FSM is a real, totally legit, and backed by hard science. Anything that comes across as humor or satire is purely coincidental.

The same place people got the phrase, "Jesus Saves"... They pulled it out of their ***.

The difference is, the guy who invented the FSM is honest about it.

Edit - How can the link below not explain the FSM? This is his homepage, and it explains everything. Are you clicking the various links to the different areas of the site?

Google "creator of the universe" and he will magically appear in your computer.
This religion is a parody of organized religions, ramen is both about the noodles and a parody on amen.

They're just mocking Christianity because it opposes evolution.
They proved that anyone can make up a religion and no matter how absurd the content of their stories is, followers can be found anywhere, because most people are really gullible. They're fun :)

lets just say it how christians would//

Does it matter where it came from. its written down, therefore; it is truth. And a lot of people wrote it, just like the bible (there is a message board) I dont need to see proof, i just believe and have been touched by the noodly appendage at the stripper factory

Are you trying to get into the club? all you have to do is believe in the fsm, and his noodly appendage powers.

Rrramen

I think the flying spaghetti monster gospel offers more believable evidence than the bible does for his existence. Unintelligent design definitely seems more probably.
