I have been putting my hair in pony tails for years because my hair is straight as a bored and I am a full time mom and don't have time to do anything else with it. I find if you use the pony tails that don't have metal on them work the best. Been using them for years and never had a problem.

If you pull your hair back tightly (and too often) in a ponytail, yes, your edges will start to thin. Traction Alopecia.

This only happens when u pull it back to tightly but if u do it lightly it wont damage ur hair..... also it matters what kind of poty-tail holders you use... the ones with the metal things on them are bad
