well he was a football player and he's basically a man whore. do i talk to him or do i ignore him?

Ignore him, forget him, treat him as if he is non-existent. You shouldn't be brewing hatred in you, it's not good for your mental health. Letting go is one of life's best lessons.

Tell him that it made you mad at what he did to your friend and that you hated him for a while. But that you have forgiven him for what he did and you are no longer mad at him.
