probably not.. but if Saddam is the president of Iraq.. he is still the president of Iraq. The "new" iraqi government was not a legal process.. nor is the "trial" of Saddam as it was initiated by the US government and has no real Iraqi legal authority... it is called a regime change by force.
The only way fighting will stop in iraq is when everyone stops fighting.. the us can speed that up by leaving and give a chance for the internal structure to reform. They just destabalized the region and forced people to change their lives a bit.
In my perhaps squewed and narrow veiw, the US is not doing any good by being there.. they are allowing a weaker government to form.

No, am sure many Iraqi's would like to have him back. At least their country wasn't in shambles when he was in power. He just had people killed.
