Yes, my bleeding was SUPER heavy for a few cycles after my Csection. The amount of blood can be disconcerting, let alone the clots. I'm not sure if it is related to the c section or birth in general, but I do remember it being very, very heavy.

After my C-section I bled straight for 3-4 days and then stopped. When I went in for my 6-week checkup, my doctor said I would start any day. I started the next day with a light flow for 2 days then stopped. One day with no bleeding. Then I started again heavily bleeding for 3 days. Stopped for 2 weeks then the same thing all over again 2 days on 1 day off 3 days on. This has kept up for about 3 months now. My doctor said irregularity is normal in some women after childbirth. I also have a blood clotting disorder. If you continue passing what seems to be clots you will want to schedule a doctor appointment. If your current doctor doesn't think it is necessary, go to a different doctor for another opinion. You may need to see a hemotologist.

Yes this happened to me. I believe I stopped bleeding 4 weeks after my c-section, I was extremely happy. But then I started bleeding again about two weeks after that. It like yours was very heavy bleeding and blood clots. My doctor said as long as I wasn't going though more than 2 pads an hour and didn't have clots bigger than a golf ball not to worry. I still did but she said I was OK. I bled again 6 weeks after that again pretty heavy. Since then I pretty much have my regular period, much to my chagrin since I am breastfeeding and a lot of women don't have their period at all when breastfeeding. Oh well not one of the lucky ones! Oh yeah and my son is 6 months old, just to give you sort of a time line.

I had a c-section on June 20th. I bled for approximately 11 days and then had my first period about three weeks later. It was extremely heavy with a lot of clots which lasted 9 days. I had a second period about three weeks after that which was more normal for me... light with minimal clotting. So I would say it sounds perfectly normal. Just don't forget to chart your cycle so that you have something to go back on.

I bled for three weeks after my c-section 11 months ago. When I went in for my 6 week check up, I was on my period. I couldn't believe that I was having a period after just getting over bleeding for three weeks. (Not to scare you) but, I had a period almost every other week for about 2 months. My Dr said that was fine. But, then I went almost 3 months after that w/o a period. ( I was under a TON of stress) hubby lost his job, my dad was diagnosed w/ a terminal cancer. I had to go back to my Dr so he could give me a pill to start my periods back up. To this day everything is fine.
I wouldn't worry too much. Good Luck!

Yeah, I was bleeding for about 6 weeks after my c-section, then about 1 month later I got my period and it was worse than the bleeding after the surgery! I called my doctor and she said it was normal and if I felt a little weak to take some iron pills to help get my blood supply back up. So, yeah I guess it is common, but still scarey. My daughter is 1 year now, and I still have wacky periods now, and I used to be normal and consistant. But, good luck, and take care of yourself!

yeah but i didn't have a c- section but after i got my period back i thought that i had another baby in there somewhere and that i had miss carriage but it turned out that my female organ was pissed and ready to take revenge...
just watch for signs of shock if your not sure what they are you can look it up at on the Internet... and just watch for faint, ext rem cramping and "heavy-nonstop-bleeding" oh and high fever.. if that happens rush yourself (ambulance) to the hospital, oh yeah and one more thing DO NOT STRESS!!! that can really throw off your period...good luck...
