Ok they say sony sound okay (i dont agree from what ive heard but hey) but they also say it dosnt last long (i dont know never bought it), JL is NOT I REPEAT NOT the best, it is VERY good but its also VERY VERY overpriced for what your gettin its kinda like the oppisite of sony (very cheap, very very shtty). Pioneer, Alpine, Kicker, JL, and Eclispe are all good brands and they have a good price range from cheap to higher end stuff, then theres brands like MB Quart that cost 300 dollars for a set of components but on the reviews everyone says they are the best speakers they have ever owned so its really up to you, your budget, and what your ear likes to hear

I personally have a pair of Memphis 61/2's that I love, I gave $50 at a local RadioShack/Audio adventure. I would also check out Infinity. But by all means, its what YOU like, not what we tell you to. If you can tell that the speakers are distorting they will last for a VERRY long time, If you cant tell distortion from normal, than the best speakers in the world wont make it a month.

The Sony Xpolds are good if you are looking for cheap. I would spend the same amount of money on a set of Infinity speakers on Ebay though if I were you.
