I noticed that most babies do, if they are sucking on a pacifier, bottle, or breast.

Their chin quivers a few times and then they take 3 or 4 sucks.

why?

it's due to poor muscle tone besides it makes them so damn cute!

I sucked my thumb for a long, long time. Well into adulthood. WELL into adulthood.

I can tell you that my tongue quivered, causing my chin to quiver, when I was most relaxed and had my thumb in my mouth. I would always try to keep it happening, because it felt comforting, but it wasn't voluntary. Nor was it a matter of lack of muscle control.

I bet it's the same thing with babies.

my pediatrician told me it's just habbits. My baby's chin quivers when he cries, he is now over 3, and still does that sometimes.
