not really. One time, but I was 'in love' with him cause I thought I should under the circumstances. I kinda knew inside the whole time that our relationshipwas more of a friendship

Yes, most of us probably have. It's easy to mistake enjoying someone else's company and having fun as 'being in love.' Love can't be defined, and is something that grows. Love is...not subject to a real definition. It's something that will always take you by surprise, it's discovered by accident sometimes, and a good example is when you realize someone close to you knew what you needed even before you did. There are indicators, but no sure markers. Good love w/your journey of discovery!!

I have thought I was in love and then realized that it wasn't really love after all. The way that I found that out was I fell in love with someone else and realized it was different than what me and my ex had. The person I am in love with respects me and that is something I cannot say about my ex boyfriend.

I've definitely had this happen to me before...but in terms of knowing whether love is real or not, here's my opinion:

Love isn't a feeling...it's a commitment. Just because your knees shake & your heart beats & your palms get sweaty around a guy doesn't necessarily mean that you're in love with him. Love is a decision you make. There are a million different guys in the world for you to potentially love...which one you choose to commit to is entirely your choice.

So how do you know when you're in love? When you decide that you are! I don't believe that there's some magic lightning bolt from heaven that strikes you and says, "This is it!"...I think that when you decide to commit yourself to just one person for the rest of your life, then you know you're in love.

Best of luck to you, hon. :)

Only because the next guy I loved even more. I believe there are different degrees of love just as there are differnt kinds of love. Like mom's loving kids, friends loving friends. Your first love, your love of a one night stand, and your love for your husband.

I fell in love with a guy and he was so funny and loved to party. However, he was useless, bad with money and was a mooch! I fell out of love rather quickly

You were not in love with anyone. Just in love with the idea.

well, now being a little older and really feeling love to a full extent, I realize my high school sweetheart wasn't love, it was just puppy love

Love doesn't exist. Everyone wants something for nothing. That is how it is. Love, died when material objects reigned.
