Being engaged really doesn't have anything to do with a ring, honey! It's the feeling in your hearts instead of something you buy. Why not say you're engaged now?

He's your boyfriend until you decide to get married. Then he's your fiance. If you're engaged in all facts except the ring, you're engaged. A ring is just an object.

This is my situation also. I like the engaged to be engaged one, but I just call him my bf still. Cause if you start saying you are engaged you know that the women in your life are going to ask to see the ring.

Being engaged is a feeling in your heart, not a ring on your finger. If you know you want to spend your life with this man, he is your diamond, not a stone on your hand. Call him your fiance. If people ask to see the ring, laugh it off casually with, "We're still working on that" and move on to another subject. Congrats and best wishes!!

The official term is betrothed, but no one really uses it any more. What my fiance-to-be and I do is avoid labeling ourselves because we are engaged, just not officially. You can say something like, "This is Alexander" and if people ask you if you are dating/engaged/whatever, say "we've been dating for a while and are just waiting to get on our feet to make it official"
Good Luck!

if the ring is the only reason why you are actually not engaged yet,and as you both decided to be engaged , then the answer is obvious : YOU ARE ENGAGED ! the ring will make it official, that's sure, but hey: the love is all that count.
so, consider yourself as his fiancee, and the ring will come soon anyway.
all the best wishes for you two !!!!

He's still your boyfriend until the engagment is official. You could always say he's your boyfriend, and qualify it by saying the two of you have plans to get married at some point.

Have you officially asked either him, or he asked you? Have you started making wedding plans? Set a date? If any of those have happened then you are engaged - a ring doesn't make it official. If not then you are just boyfriend and girlfriend until something more officially happens.

A ring does not make it official by any means. If he asks you (even without a ring) and you say yes, you are then engaged.
