You left so much out - but here goes - depending on who the police were - off-duty cops covering the event?Event security?or the real thing?Where did this happen?Bottom line: your "young offender act" will help you a bit.. but the school could, regardless what the charges are: 1- Suspend you - and Forever - they could also make it very hard for you to find another school who will admit you as their student. Your school records go with you. In the event your charged, and it could be anything from Assault,Assault Causing Bodily Harm;Attempted Murder (depending if someone was injured) - not counting all the Civil Suits that could arise! Now for the Good One: You could be charged, under the Federal Act, US and Canada with "Staring a Riot", depending how many people got involved, when and where! You could also be charged under the Federal Act with "Civil Disobedience" in the US... Now be a Good Boy, and I hope you don't have a juvi record! - Good luck, let us know... and remember, YOU ASKED!!!

Obviously, a teen who gets in a fight in any public place can be arrested for assault and battery. The school can order him to be removed from school grounds in the event the police aren't involved or don't arrest him, and if he is a student of that school he can face disciplinary action such as detention, suspension, or even expulsion.

besides the legal ramifications of fighting, assault, dis con, etc. You could live out a few days or weeks at a County jail then graduate to the state prison.
As well as that you can"
You can be paralyzed, mentally incapacitated, lose nerve function, be shot, stabbed, stomped to death. You could lose sight in one or both eyes, have a severly damaged nose that requires surgery to repair, get hit in the throat and not be able to talk any more. Lose teeth, get a broken jaw, get a ear ripped off.
Or
You can hit someone and they fall and hit their head and die. Or you paralyze someone. Then you will get a civil judgment against you. You will pay them or their family a portion of your pay for the rest of your life. You cant get out of that either, you are stuck paying.

Worst case scenario is a juvinille detention center unless the teen is 16 or 17 and they try them as an adult. Then you can get aggravated assult and things like that.

different than the criminal outcomes of dropping custody of the youngster, there is the deprivation of the youngster to an honest coaching, and a life-time of being at a grave downside for something of their life. that's an mind-blowing thank you to grow to be a bum, a drug addict, a profession criminal, and have a very short depressing life. What a shame that no one would be backing this youngster up and getting them each and all the advantages that a democracy provides them. We fastened this a alongside time in the past to grant each and every youngster an coaching loose fo fee. there is no ethical clarification for all of us to permit them to no longer take earnings of that. How quite unhappy.

well you can be subject to the discipline guidelines by the school and as well as the local police, where i am from kids are arrested for battery in school when they physically fight. it depends on what the school sets for punishment for fighting, it can be suspension or expulsion.

You can be charged w/assault just the same as any public place and you will get suspended from school. If your crime is serious enough or a repeat offence, the school will try to remove you from its rosters. Was this your kid?
