...
When you blow in a dog's face, you are establishing dominance over the dog. If you are not already dominant over the dog, the dog may rebel and get aggressive. The dog is saying that you are not my boss, so quit blowing in my face.

Blowing in a dogs nose, rolling a dog over on its back, and standing between it and something it wants (such as food dish or toy) are all shows of dominance. If the dog allows you to do these things, then it considers you as its leader.

Pack leaders will put their months over a subordinate dog's month in a show of dominance. Some people are able to dominate angry dogs just by holding the dogs head firmly in place and blowing in its nose. I think it is these people's body language, attitude, firmness, and leadership that causes the dog to recognize this person is now its leader. This may be dangerous, but some people have this leadership ability.

Blowing in his face is an aggressive act to a dog..Much as the enemy breathing down his face when it attacks..
.Smelling the air out the car window, tells a dog where he is going.. he can't watch the roadway as we do, as things move too fast to focus on..so, he tells his way by the scents..
My little dog caan't see at all, as she is too short..but she sure knoows where we are going, just from the scents...she know when we are about 3 blocks form the vet's!!! and hides

Have you ever noticed that this question is on here at least 8 times a day? Ever stop to think your dog doesn't like it because your breath smells like you've been eating turds? Try some Listerine Mr. Halitosis

No, my dog loves when I blow in his face. He licks me, and then sneezes. That is how I taught him to sneeze on command. If a dog gets "mad" when you blow in his face he probably isn't too well socialized. My other dog sort of acts surpirsed and turns away.

That's because when YOU BLOW IN HIS FACE, HE CAN NO LONGER BREATH.

Just like when you give a Baby or Child medication that they don't want to keep down, you "blow in their face," this makes them gulp, swallowing it, because it TAKES THEIR BREATH AWAY.
