Can anyone tell me if their dachschund has ever had some bad side effects from the dog food they have given them? If so, what are they? I feed my dog IAMS and I have been told that the preservatives could be bad for him. Are there "natural" dog foods that anyone has had good results with? Any websites I can go to for help? I want him to live a long and healthy life and am looking for info! He's gonna be 3 years old.

I have bred Dachshunds, and have a Dachshund mix right now.. I recommend Canidae, Wellness, Innova, Solid Gold, Natural Balance.thay are all amde from human grade ingredients, so you never have to wonder what's in the bag..I switched to Canidae, 2 1/2 years ago, and love the results..

I feed my dachshund Natural Balance. She and my other dogs have done extremely well on it.

Fillers cause more poo. If he is okay with Iams I wouldn't switch. I do feed mine an occassional meal of protein. (Piece of meat or chicken)

ANY decent brand of DRY*ADULT* feed is FINE!!! INCLUDING Iams!
DON'T bother wasting time *&* BIG MONEY on fancy CRAP-the sales pitch is for ***YOU*** not the dog!

i have a dachscund but have never had any probs with her food but you should check local pet store for natural food good luck
