If you increase the rim size, then the tires you have on there won't work. As long as the rims are the same diameter and width then you should be OK.

YES(more than likely). IF you decide on purchasing a set of rims that are not 16-inch like the OEM-factory ones you will.....Tires come in thousands of sizes and all are coded w/ a similar code like 245-35-19.
The 245 is the width in mm. I think.
The 35 is the series/height of the tire wall also in mm.
And the last number (19) is the size of the rim/wheel application.
However Some 16-inch Rims wouldnt allow you to use factory rubbers if theyre too wide.

well first i think you have 16 inch rims...if you are looking to change your rims or wheels you have to know what size rims you wanna go with if you are going to stay with the 16 and you wanna use the same tires you have to buy some rims that are going to be the same wide as the one you have from stock but that wouldn't make no different to do something like that knowing that you alredy have 16 inch rims...and yes you do need new tires if you are going to change the size of your rims to 18 which i think that what you are looking for...also you should do it in a profecional garage where you can buy them and they will instal it for you...and please don't buy the rims that your neigbord or your friend is saling not if you don't know how tall and how wide your rims shold be...one last thing check with your vehicle garanty befor making any modification to your car because they can give you hard time just because of your new rims......

Only if the rims are going to be a different size than the tires you already have. The tires will be placed onto the new rims.

as long as the tires you have will fit on the new rims, you should be ok. ask the installer, but i'm sure you will have to get new tires too if the rims are too big or small for the tires you have now.

Tires vary in width and diameter. You would have to see if the old rim and the new rim are the same size. if they are not then you need new tires too.
