I'm not sure what colors to use yet, so I thought that maybe I should get the colors from the comforter?

Since the bed is always the focal point of the bedroom it makes sense to first decorate the bed and use the bedding as your inspiration piece. You don't always have to use a color found in the comforter itself....colors from the opposite side of the color wheel can be used for the wall color and then pulled down to the bed with the use of accent pillows. By going with opposites you will avoid the matchy-matchy look that always makes a room look too predictable. So choose the bedding first and build your room around it.

Me personally, I would paint first also. That's only because I am such a "changer". I can't keep the same sheets or comforter on my bed for 2 months without wanting to change it all up. Try going with some nuetral colors that go with anything, then as long as your comforter falls in the nuetral shading it'll look great. If you want your bedroom to match your comforter and you know you'll have it for a long time, then get paint to match it. Good Luck!

Personally, I would paint first, then pick my comforter. You have to realize that you might not have this comforter forever. What happens if you spill something horrible on it that won't come out and you can't find the exact same comforter again. Pick a neutral color that you like and paint your room, finding a matching comforter is easy enough and it doesn't have to exactly match the comforter, just be complimentary to it.

There can be many answers to this question depending on habit and taste. Your probably more like to change the comforter before you change the paint again. Take into considation the other items you plan on placing the room. Such as furnature, dark vs. light vs. metal, curtains, paintings / artwork and carpeting. Your floor covering takes in a large amount of how the other two will be perceived.

I like to look at my sign design horoscope before I even put a drop of paint on my walls or add furniture. Try this link below provided by HGTV:

I recommend that you pick the bedding first, and then choose a color from the bedding for your walls. I did it the other way round last time, and it was really difficult matching the paint. it also resulted in a less cohesive design. This does not mean you have to be too matchy-matchy, but it will make for a more soothing design. it will also be easier to match the rest of the room with other colors from the bedding.

Get the comforter first and then pick a colour from it for the paint.
If you get the paint first, it might be pretty difficult for you to find a comforter you like that will match.

I am in the process of doing the same thing. Believe me, it's not easy to find bedding in colors that you think you want, so for me, I am going to select the comforter first. I have twin beds, which makes the selection even more difficult because most twin sets are either really cheap (look like printed cheesecloth) or they are styled more for children. My beds will be in a guestroom and I would like a more sophisticated look.

i think of it is an remarkable concept on your room. you could bypass to shops like activity foyer or Michaels or any craft keep to purchase an opaque projector. With it you could undertaking laptop printouts of the music lyrics on your wall which you would be able to music with a Sharpie (paint may well be too messy). merely print out the lyrics, and positioned it below the projector. you could replace the size by using moving the projector around. you could replace the font on the laptop.
