Its possible. You won't know until the baby is born. Why does it matter to you? As long as the baby is healthy thats all that matters. My son has dark blonde hair and my husband and I have very dark br hair. I die my hair red now and I love it and people with red hair look beautiful for a girl handsome for a boy. I personally wouldn't worry about it. You should love you child no matter what anyways.

LOL--Well it reminds me of a story anyway. My son has red hair, but the trait had skipped a generation on my wife's side.
We went up to West Virginia to visit my grandparents on my father's side, but my granmother was then well into her dodderage and had a tendency to say things that were just inappropriate if not downright offensive without warning or provocation.
So we walk in the door and she glares across the room eying first my son and then my wife and blurts out "I'll bet Mary (my wife) could tell us a thing or two about where that boy got red hair.."
"Nice to see you too Gramma," I responded.

No not always because I have red hair myself and my daughter has dark browm hair with red highlights. Neither one of my parents had red hair, it's a gentic thing that usually skips a generation. If one of the parents have redhair and the other one has red or blonde you have a really good chance of your children born with red hair ( I hate having red hair but my man thinks that it's sexy so I don't dye it)

There is a definite possibility. The male genes are mostly always dominant. I have red hair and I only have red hair that appears on my fathers side.

I believe the redhead gene must be present on both sides. In my case I have one red haired great-grandparent on my moms side & one on my dads. No one else with red hair & the gene made it down to me. My kids have brown hair like their dad...who has no redheads in his family. Do some inquiring into your distant relatives to see if the possibility exists.
And, BTW, why WOULDNT she love a red haired child?! What odd responses.
ME- red haired & quite lovable, thank you

They stand a very good chance. I love being a redhead. If they hate their red hair in later life there is always hair dye!

I have dark brown hair. The "sperm donor" of my 2 youngest daughters, has RED hair (his mom's is dark with red highlights, his dad's is also dark) One of my daughter's has dark brown hair and the other has blonde hair, (although she was born with red hair)
