Well, some people have this. Like me, for instance. If I put too much weight on my left knee, it gets all cracky and sore. Sometimes there are sharp pains, but I think it's what my sister has. She has a lack of cartiledge(sp?) in her knee joint, and it hurts her to move it too much. You also could have pulled a muscle, which hurts alot before. I might only be thirteen, but this has happened to me before. Whenever you move that specific set of muscles, sharp pains run through the area, right? Anyway, the smartest solution is to see a doctor. That way he can at least give you medecine and advice so you won't be in pain. Better safe then sorry!

Joint pain or stiffness of the joint may be caused by overexertion, injuries, arthritis, muscle pain, bursitis and other diseases. Depending on the cause of the joint pain, joints on both sides of the body and small or large joints may be affected. Some types of joint pains can be completely cured but for other types of joint pain (like pain caused by osteoarthritis), treatment will only reduce the pain. Have you seen a doctor? You have probably injured the knee. If it was arthritis or caused by your 189 lbs. you would probably hurt all the time.

i would see an orthopedic surgeon about your knee. you could have done some kind of damage to it which would require knee surgery.
