Around the 1500 A.D. the Catholic Church added a few books to the O.T. which are part of the Apocrypha which were books which were not a part of the Bible. In official Catholic doctrine a Pope can speak "ex-cathedera" which means when he does whatever is said is as equal and even superior to the written word of the Bible. That tradition in the Catholic Church allows the Bible to be over ruled in some cases which is a dangerous practice. I think most Bible believing Christians have forgotten all this since hardly anyone mentions it any more. The Mormons have entire books they accept as being greater than the Bible and Jehovah Witnesses have edited their version of the Bible to remove clear references to Jesus as being God because that is what their founder believed contrary to historical Christianity. It's all wrong!!

I don't think they add to the bible stuff, because then you will have the Bible 1st edition, 2nd edition and on and on, and whenever you go to a library you don't ask for the 2006 Bible....
Probably they change words from the old language so It can be better understood these days, or maybe so you can apply the Bible's stories in a better way to your life. But still, I do believe Bible is a beautiful story but not true.

Jesus isn't gone. How did John Paul add to the bible. Adding to the bible makes one a liar. I don't think John Paul did that. If you are going to accuse, please write what He added. Maybe the first John Paul was a false prophet.
In the Catholic Cannon there are apocryphal books that need to be tossed. Who ever put them in the Catholic Cannon, God has judged. God is going to remove the tares in His time. False doctrines are tares among the wheat (Word of God).

The Bible is a historical record of what happened. The parts that were written after Jesus died were to tell what happened and what effects he caused. The apostles that wrote after his death were given a command, by God to write what he showed them. Also, some parts of the Bible appear to be after his death but if you read closely you realize they were before. The Bible didn't end when Jesus died.....our salvation began.

How would the stories of the birth, life, teachings, death and resurrection of Christ be passed on to the world if the accounts of those who witnessed those things were not recorded? The Gospels of Mathew, Mark, Luke and John are their accounts of those events. The gospels had to be written after the facts, because they were the memories, or testimonies, of the gospel writers. The further books of the New Testament recorded the acts of the disciples and were included because followers of the faith and new believers could study and learn about Christ from those who knew him. At various times in history, councils were held to determine which books would be included or set aside.

If you read the Bible - you would know that God's Church was just created - so we have history of the Church in it's early days.
