don't know. I've never seen my cats get excited about a garbage truck going by but then again they are use to big trucks going by we live on a busy road.

I have three cats and only one of them runs to the window when the garbage truck goes by. I can't tell you why but I always know when the trash truck is near.

Maybe because their sense of smell is a ton better than ours and they can smell all kinds of food on the truck that they are interested in?

they do not like the loud sound and it makes them nervous, and they probably smell the garbage and dont like the smell

do they? mine never did... anyway, if they do it's probably because they can smell the food leftovers in the truck.
