The U.S. Armed Forces, which includes the Army, is the only thing standing between freedom and oppression. Soldiers defend the freedoms and rights that so many Americans take for granted these days. History has taught us that there will always be tyrants like your Caesars, Napoleons, Hitlers, Stalins, Pol Pots, Fidel Castros, and Saddam Husseins who will try to take over countries/regions and rule by force. Our government is the only one in the world that is based on the guarantee of rights and freedoms rather than the denial of rights and freedoms, and that type of freedom is NEVER free -- it's bought and paid for with the blood of those who are willing to fight and die for it.

Not just the Army, the military. If we didn't have it, we would be overran by Islamist nut jobs, like so much of the rest of the world.
