Also, does anyone know how long a Canadian can stay in the country if just visiting? If they want to stay longer than that, what do they have to do?

Three months without a passport, traditionally. Now you need a passport. After that, you go back for 48 hours, then say you are going for a visit and can stay up to three months. Nothing new.

You cannot work. It is hard for Canadians to get a green card or work visa unless you are offered a job there and there is a need for foreign workers in that area, or else, you marry an American. If you have a criminal record, do not go down. You will be turned back, or if you are caught in the States, you will be arrested and deported.

A Canadian can stay up to 6 months in the U.S. as a visitor. But why becoming U.S Citizien if she/his is Canadian? She/his can decide to become only permanent resident, and there are not a lot of differences. Anyway, in my case, i am proud to be Canadian and want to remain it :)

In order to become a US citizen you must have been a permanent US resident for at least 5 years.
ANd to become one you must have a Green Card. If you are from Canada(or Mexico, Rissia, China, India, etc etc) you CANNOT apply for a Green Card via DV Lottery. So your only chance is to get here on visa and get married for papers. Everyone around me is legal by marriage fraud. It's the only way, unless you have relatives here or get a sponsor.

If just visiting a canadian can stay in the country for up to 6 months to stay longer you would have to make an extension and wait to see if its granted

You havent even lived in Canada as a criminal resident and you're speaking approximately growing to be a citizen earlier you even circulate there? isn't smart. I dont see the variety you would be granted residency with your psychological issues and scarcity of earnings or a activity in Canada. you're able to be able to take a pupil visa or vacationer visa for 6 months and notice in case you like it there.
