Kids like big toys it seems. Yes, big toys are more expensive but they don't seem to get thrown into the toy box after 20 minutes. One year olds like ride on toys and things like that. Toddler boys like the same thing. They also like places to hide such as forts and tents. As for an 8 year old girl--they're all different. Some like dress up and some like playing house and cooking with pretend food and some like make-up and dressing up Barbies.

LOL I have the drop and roar dinosaur. It is still in the box because of 2 year old disability. But I'm sure when my 3 month old gets bigger he will play with it 8 year old girl... When I was babysitting the girl played with bratz and a playstation 2. I don't know I'm not big into games for the TV but my husband plays them all the time and it keeps him quiet. LOL

My boys loved big trucks. Start off with the plastic ones then go to the metal Tonka trucks. For infants, anything that rings or jingles. How about stacking blocks or big balls. For an 8 year old girl, Barbie, Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears. Hope this helps.

I love toy questions!
For your baby, anything colorful that they can grab on to and move around such as cars, trains, and balls. These are great for toddlers as well.
For the toddler, toys that help develop large and small motor skills such as legos, Lincoln logs, puzzles, and blocks (they love blocks!). They also like using things that are real when they get a bit older. Cleaning supplies are very popular in my preschool classroom. We have child sized brooms, mops, spray bottles and scrub brushes to clean tables and windows. They also love child sized tools that are real. You may also find a workbench to go along with it. We also have a tree stump where the children use a child sized hammer to hammer nails in. They love it! Trains are also very popular for that age. A water table is great too!
Dollhouses are great for children 3 and up. Costco has a great wooden dollhouse that included people, furniture, a garage and cars. It’s great! (Boys like dollhouses too). It usually comes out right before the holidays.
Check out these sites (I have purchased from each safely several times). Order the free catalogs. You’ll love them!

Toys that kids never get sick of? Wouldn't we all like to know!
It's easy to get caught up in what's hot but my 15 month old son has a ton of toys and there is only one thing he REALLY likes - BALLS. Simple, cheap and fun. My niece is 8 yrs old and it's Bratz, Bratz and more Bratz. But, her portable CD player is always with her and there are sooo many CDs out there...

Empty boxes are great toys. So are wooden spoons and pots and pans. Kids will always get sick of toys eventually. As far as 8 year old girls, my daughter plays with Bratz the most.
