Christians have been making their own rules since the time of the Apostle Paul, when he said that it was like he had worked for nothing because they had gone back to the observances and traditions of men. This included such things as the celebrations of birthdays, the immortalizing of the dead through annual remembrances, and the use of rituals and idolic symbols.

Now, nearly 2000 years later, they are still doing the exact same thing. So no, we may not still be making up our own rules, just still following the same bad ones made up in the past.

Christians have making up rules all the time -

Saul abandoned the dietary restrictions given by God to Moses for no good reason. He just thought they were and annoyance, and didn't really give a damn what God thought about them.

Christmas is treated as a Holy day. However, it is not one of the feast days defined in the Bible.

We do not make our own rules. We believe that the Bible is God's life manual for us.

Yes, we should follow scriptures, but we fall short from the glory of God. We get saved only by the grace and mercy of God

The day I see christians living by their own rules, I'll show respect for their filth - oops, faith. Until then they can sit and spin on a crucifix-shaped dildo and be "filled with the holy spirit".

As long as such saladbar christians are hypochristians, they deserve to be called on it and not shown any respect. If they want others to live by "god's law", then they had better be living themselves.

It's all in scripture. Adding to or taking away is not a good thing to be doing! It's warned against several times in scripture!
