Dogs can get colds, bulldogs are prone to some sinus issus.

No not give your dog any people medication! Dosing is much different even with a med that isnt poisionous to the dog!

But, my dog also 'sneezes' when she get excited, my vet told me some dogs just do this and its called reversed sneezing:

REVERSE SNEEZING

REVERSE SNEEZING (Pharyngeal Gag Reflex*)--is a dramatic, rapid inhalation and exhalation of air through the nasopharynx. Dogs may do this when they have a mild irritation at the back of their throat. Often confused with seizuring or gasping for air, it is usually a harmless event.

Reverse sneezing isn't really a health problem, but something that dog owners should be aware of as it is very common in toy breeds. It is characterized by honking, hacking or a snorting sounds. It usually happens when a dog is excited or can sometimes happen after drinking, eating, running around, or while pulling on the leash. The dog will usually extend his/her neck while gasping inwards with a distinctive snorting sound, it is reverse sneezing.

Usually by gently rubbing the throat of your dog, the spasms will stop after they swallow a couple of times and that's the end of it. Other dogs respond well by taking them outside for some fresh air. Or you can plug the nose holes forcing the dog to breathe through her mouth and that will usually stop an episode as well.

Reverse sneezing is a harmless condition and medical attention is not necessary. It is important to not confuse reverse sneezing with a collapsing trachea.

You can call your local vet but my experience with bulldogs is that they have breathing problems any way due to the way their nose is situated. They aren't really sneezing so much as snorting. Their breathing is some what restricted when they breath through there nose and their nose runs alot so they are clearing the nasal passage. There isn't much you can do about it except keep the pollen and dust down in the house just like you would for a human

Yes they can get colds. They can also have allergies. She acting sick or unusual in any way? Runny nose? If dog is sick normally it is a virus, and a visit to the vet for Rx. Allergies, red eyes, scratching (not due to fleas) - Benedryl can be given. 1 pill 1 time a day. Depending on weight. I have a german shepherd puppy about 55 lbs. He gets two a day for allergies. 1 in the am and 1 in the pm about 12 hrs apart.

If not...
Dogs sneeze in response to happy (fun) stimuli or events....in fact, you might consider it a 'canine giggle'. Bulldogs, collies, labs, poodles, and the list goes on and on this is common.

Not sure where you live, but dogs definetly get colds or it could be allergies. Bulldogs seem to have breathing problems as it is so if it is only happening when she gets overly excited it could be some swelling in her throat. I have a small dog that everytime she get excited she starts choking and we just tell her to settle down and then she is fine. I wouldn't worry.

Yes, dog's can get colds too. Also, some breeds of dog's just sneeze when they get excited, noone knows why they just do.
Or mabe she has allergies to something, dog's are just like us , they can get colds, have allergies and attitudes. Can't really say what to give them as far as medicine is concerned though. Good Luck

I've noticed that my dogs sneeze when they are happy, also a dog will sneeze if the get something in their nose, like dust. Yes dogs can get sick. Have you contacted your vet? Ask them some questions they will beable to tell you what you can give her to make her feel better IF she is sick.

Our vet says that dogs, in general, sneeze when they are happy. We own 2 Scottish Terriers, the older one sneezes alot. If your pup seems lethargic and is sneezing, then I'd see the vet.

Hi! Yes, dogs can get a cold. You need to get her to a vet right away because bulldogs already have small nasal passages. If there is any congestion, it could prevent her from breathing and kill her.

She probably has some sort of nasal problem. I'd take her to the vet to find out what's bothering her.

Yes, bulldogs can get colds.

Sneezing, in that instance, is to show she is happy. My dogs do the same thing.
You have to be careful with bulldogs, though. They are more prone to respiratory infections because they have such a short nose. - their filter is shorter!
