I notice after my last question people who appear to be proponents of the creationism just took off on me, calling me ignorant and that there was no evidence for macro-evolution.
Its as if there is two conversations.
A: The Bible is the truth, god made human.
B: Here are some evidences regarding the Evolution of species on earth, not just humans, but other species too.
A: You are ignorant. On page one of my God book it says God made man.
B: So we got this fossil record here and some expiriments showing the age of the Earth is older than 6000 years old.
A: Why are you ignorant? Are book says right here on page one God made human.
Some of you might think I'm being funny. I'm not. Not at all.

The funny thing is that this is really how the conversation goes. But of course this what the Christian faith is all about...Abandoning logic, fact, and common sense and following on blind faith alone.

Oh brother. Ther is so much to show you and so little time.
Let's just address the dating methods first.
Radio metric dating was a method created to date older findings such as dinosaur fossils and the like.
Carbon 14 dating was a method created to date things assumed to be newer such as a vase from the ming dynasty or a piece of manuscript from an egyptian tomb etc.
The problem is that both dating methods were created to match the already assumed dates. When artifacts are placed into the opposite equipment they still come up with the kind of dates thay where designed to come up with.
If you place a chinese vase into radiometric equipment you will come up with a 5 million year old vase. If you put a dinosaur fossil into the carbon 14 equipment you will come up with a fossil that is only several thousand years old.
I'm afraid at best these devices and procedures were designed based on assumption and circular reasoning.
If you want some long term, open ended and open minded discussion about this whole issue, feel free to contact me.

Why do you act like you have an answer when you do not?
Please prove to me through the use of science that God is not real.
I believe in God but my mind is open about evolution. It's still a form of creation so I'm not sure if it happened or not but it's possible.
Please do not be so ignorant. You act more knowledgeable than others but you do not have an answer for either do you? Stop having your mind closed when maybe God exists. You'll never know. Just because air is invisible does not mean it's not there.

I feel that way sometimes. I'm a very easy-going person at heart, and I believe everyone should be able to find what makes them happy and live how they want as long as nobody else gets hurt. But the trouble with being an easy-going person is that many people are *not* easy-going, and they take a pair of shrugged shoulders as an invitation to steamroll over everyone else.

Jim, Are you perhaps generalizing just a little? I've read many of the responders to your questions and not really noticed the angry responses from all christians nor the gentle and soothing responses from evolutionists.

Well, yeah. You might as well be talking to a bible for all the sense the Fundies make. I think it's because they've never seen the need to expand their horizons and read something else, so all they can do is spit quotes. Really, just let it drop. So not worth the effort. What do we get out of trying to talk to them?

You are not ignorant. You may be just searching for answers to your questions. I am a Christian and I believe God made humans. But, He evidently made other sorts as well. Bones, real bones, don't lie. Dinosaurs were real creatures.
I just don't believe we came from apes.

Yarr Jimmy Jim Jimbob Jim my dear, they are too narrow-minded to have a conversation with you. Just ignore them. You can't change their useless minds. Atempts at conversion are truly futile, love.

We wrapped 'em all in a mains'l tight
With twice ten turns of a hawser's bight
And we heaved 'em over and out of sight,
With a Yo-Heave-Ho! and a fare-you-well
And a sudden plunge in the sullen swell
Ten fathoms deep on the road to hell,
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!
